Delayed luggage compensation - TG

FINALLY!

After a sternly worded letter invoking the Montreal convention and implying legal action I got a request from TG for original receipts to be forwarded to BKK. Also threat of not using the airline again (guess my 5 J flight in the last 12 months helped)

Today I received an offer of a full sum (USD 650 or something) which I will greatfully accept.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Congratulation's! :D

Although, I'd still be pondering this until the funds are in your account.

Well

The saga is over. I have got a cheque for the full compensation amount (SGD 855 or something to the effect) in my hot little hand. Guess the wingeing helps.

I celebrated by booking a return J flight to India and returning from Pakistan on TG. I am a bit worried though: I only have 55 minutes connection time in BKK. Maybe I should take an earlier outbound flight. After all it was a 3 hour flight when my luggage did not meet the connection!

Yes you should :!:

QF managed to lose a bag for me (for 6 hrs) traveling from MEL-HBA so anything is possible :!:

Well

Missus did not let me take an earlier flight. Something about spending extra time with the family. Insisted on packing it all carry on. Interesting experience. I have never done a trip that long with carry on before. 2.5 days in New Delhi and 2.5 in Karachi. Surprisingly it is working so far, just had to decant all the potions into small portions and substitute the spray deodorant for stick.

My flight was delayed by 45 minutes leaving Singapore (not Changi fault, TG fault) so I had 15 minutes to sprint to the departure gate in BKK. Good thing I took carry on. There was this other Australian guy from my plane arguing that he would not get on until they insured his luggage was transferred. They held the plane for 15 minutes because of him, until he saw his luggage loaded.
