QF Links social media a/c to QF FF Profile without authority

i noticed this week a login via messenger and that QF Had without my authority connected their FF Profile to one of my social media accounts.

Anyone else noticed this ?

How is it connected? You have to sign in to give them access. Hardly connected yet.

Nothing there tells me that you are actually linked - it's just Qantas requesting you to link. Unless you go through the process, they won't be able to do much.

Without putting up personal details, I can't show the actual screen that came up on the booking I had last week

The thumbnail shows. "This also allows Qantas to access your public profile"

I suspect you've already logged into Facebook with your browser. Its just using cookies suggesting the currently logged in user is you. Unless you sign in and grant Qantas access to your profile, they don't have it.

The link has been there for a while now.

I would not get too excited as I see the link and I have never signed up to Facebook in any form...

I have a Facebook account but am unlikely to ever link it with a third party like Qantas.

They already know a lot about you, no need to give them more.

I love Facebook . I very rarely post and I am incredibly selective as to who I allow to be a friend, but it is an easy way to stay in touch with what is going in the lives of more distant friends and relatives.

I often am quite regretful about the people with whom I lost touch after moving countries and cities and my kids will never have that issue.

I use the Messenger option for some of my flights. I find it quite good actually.
I’m also a regular Facebook user which probably helps.
I’m not at all concerned about what info QF might be getting from my Facebook.
Google is doing a great job of that already well outside Facebook

exactly -for all the people on here who sneer at Facebook, this board is social media and I really can’t see too much difference. People post pictures of their meals on various threads, talk about their travels and the off topic thread definitely reminds me of what I see on Facebook

LOL, AFF is nothing BUT social media..

My "What is facebook?" was tongue in cheek, although I personally am not on FB, I'm told by some that it means there's very little to discuss when you meet people because you're fully aware of whats been happening in their lives.

What sort of info does Qantas send via Messenger?

PNR and itinerary. The good thing is that when there’s a change to the booking eg. Time change of a sector it updates to Messenger pretty much instantly.

Isn't that the truth! Noone posts themselves sitting on the sofa ,wearing tatty pyjamas in their "can't be bothered doing anything today" updates..

+1 have also used it, it works well. Easy to forward onto others too.
