Second iPhone 6s just died in 14 months.

First one lasted 6 months from purchase, after which it turned itself off and refused to turn back on (known problem apparently and they told me I shouldn't leave it charging overnight as that is the cause of said malfunction).

Was replaced under warranty with "refurbed" model.

Second one now has broken speaker/microphone (I can't hear people and they say they can only hear a muffled sound from my end) and the home button has just stopped working..

About to toddle off to Telstra shop for a fun discussion on Apple's 1 year warranty versus Australian consumer protections and the expectation that the lifespan on a phone sold on a two year contract will actually last for two years with normal use (and no damage i.e. water/dropping from my end).

Has anyone had any luck in getting a repair/new phone in a similar case?
No probs with Apple.6 plus Purchased outright from Apple. 2.5 years later battery died (no AppleCare extended warranty). They tested it and said it was going to cost $$$. Then said when it was entered into the system, the reply came back as warranty repair. So replaced FOC with refurb model and they also replaced the screen protector FOC as well. 3 months later the refurb phone screen went funny returned to Apple store - also replaced FOC along with screen protector. All easy.

Its actually contracted through Telstra Business so hoping I can convince them to look after me given we have our phone/lines business NBN plans etc through them. Maybe they will be more amenable that the regular Telstra Shop. We shall see...

Should not have to. The product should be able to stand on its own warranty, statutory or otherwise. Apple are actually quite good with warranty

iPhones actually have a two year (plus) warranty despite Apple saying only one, the ACCC told them they must provide at least two years by law, although they still don't publicly admit it last time I checked. Mine as replaced at 22 months free.

The Ekaterinburg Arena, one of Russia's World Cup stadiums, will have an additional stand for extra fans OUTSIDE the stadium

That's actually a clever idea to increase capacity for a showcase event, then complete the stadium post event for "regular" sports use post-event.

mrsdoc recently took hers to apple for a fix. Same. 21 months old, was going to get a free replacement if they couldn't fix.

Our tiny street is packed. There’s an auction on. I’d say 100+ people including sticky beakers like me. Planning on sellling this time next year after a Reno.

It’s probably a knock down and has attached tennis court in bad state.

Sold. Opening bid of 1.8 million. Up in $50k lots to sale price of $2,175,000. I’d estimated 2.2 million but someone who’d been through said house was original 1950’s decor not touched and tennis court unplayable.

Our property is half that but 2 storey and Tudor 1920’s with all the timber floors, lead lights, chandeliers etc. I have an estimate as to $$$.

Current pet peeve is cash registers which require endless tapping on the screen to enter simple order. Just ordered drink-in coffee and a biscuit - at least 20 taps. Also hate it when you can't see the amount being rung up. No way to see if correct item or amount used.

Buyer a developer?

Are you worried if the Aussie market crashes by then?

I know magpies are nasty but saw someone with a hat that had metal sprongs sticking up.

We have adult magpie and kids about 25m from our house. Parent (mum, dad? who does the foraging and feeding in the magpie nest?) is great: flies past us on the way to collect bugs etc. Yesterday I was mowing the back yard and whilst stopped at one side, the magpie flew on down to the cut grass area and looked at me for a couple of seconds, then when they realised I was stopping and watching him/her back, they started collecting some food. After a minute, magpie flies off and I continue mowing.

We might just be lucky... no swooping around our suburb this spring.

(Not in the VIP area -what went wrong? :(

Add: hopelessly under catered for. Public seating down a slope so can't see. Many older folks standing.

Your action of mowing puts you in that Magpies good books, because you're unlocking a food source for them.

Ha, Adelaide never rose much when Mel and Syd went gangbusters.

I'm not sure about the buyer. The Public and Primary schools in our area are rated as the best in SA and ours is a tiny suburb. Its a bit unique. And very popular with Chinese families as a result.

Same view after this guy decided to put a chair in the front of the aisle. Obviously moreDYKWIA than me.

Well I may well have more bird friends than human friends.Mostly magpies and butcher birds but recently even a dove.

My grandpa was always friends with all the birds; magpies and kookaburras would come knock on his kitchen window when they wanted something.
