Worse than feet on bulkheads

You know what is really disgusting? People going to the toilet in just socks or barefooted ...

Why don't they use the little room at the front of the plane designed for ablution instead of their socks. Is it a Gérard Depardieu moment?

After being on this discussion for a few months I think we should be looking at "when nothing happens". And, are we developing a bit of a fetish here????? Some new visitors to the site might think they have stumbled into a fetish "feet and shoes" site rather than a FF one! Secret shots of feet/shoes in different positions, mmmm I wonder!!!! (joking)

Mind you this visit to the EK Lounge in BKK was a memorable one; 1 feet on seat, 4 facechat (or whatever it annoyingly is) conversations going on at the same time and one beaut agreement at the front counter from a DYKWIA. All in a days travel......

The last photo is an excellent illustration... why is feet on seats ok but feet on bulkhead not? You don't sit or come into contact with the bulkhead. You do with the seat.
Those feet on the bulkhead are at eye level and very close to the person in the seat in front.

Not a good look and does not need to be seen in public.

Sitting in the SYD Dom J Lounge right now. I can't take a photo but looking at a guy who has taken one sock and shoe off. Bare foot up on the table, and the sock is in his hand, waving it around animatedly while he talks to his companions.

Saw this one on Reddit (r/rage):
Pic won't work - throwing pistachio shells on the floor basically.

Just stumbled across an article about her -

Passenger tosses pistachio shells on floor on Ireland to US flight: Picture causes outrage

There were a minority which came to the passenger’s defence, with one user called Paul02008 saying he didn’t understand the big fuss. “The aisles get vacuumed after every trip regardless, I don’t see what the big deal is.”

Remind me never to visit your home Paul02008.

So can I extend that theory and make a horrendous mess in the toilet, but its OK because they get cleaned after every trip!

This is the society we have created. The "me" society. Don't worry about how anyone will be affected by your actions. Rudeness is thriving.

While throwing trash on the floor is unacceptable, there are a lot of things these days which some people are deeming rude even when fairly innocuous. The skill is being able to ignore those things which don't impact us.

Couldn't agree more! And a lot of the actual damaging things people used to do and that used to be socially acceptable are no longer (thank goodness) like smoking in workplaces and sexual harassment for example. Plus the vast majority of people actually don't think throwing trash on the floor is acceptable.

Lots of things impact us.

e.g. Walked into train carriage yesterday evening and young(ish) lass sitting by herself in the 4 seater in a largely empty carriage. Her feet are up in the seat in front with the soles of her sneakers resting against the upper part of the front of the seat and lower part of the seat. The foam was compressed and her soles would have covered a reasonable size area.

The soles of her sneakers could be clean but generally not clean. Could have picked up any number of germs and left them behind. Other people will sit there. Kids will be around.

I struggle to understand why people think it's ok to put their shoes anywhere they want. Recently I saw a middle aged adult press the walk button at the traffic lights with the soles of his shoe and laughing about it. Sorry but that's not funny and is actually disgusting.

When out in public behave the way othervoeople expect you to behave not the way you think you should behave. Very simple concept.

She really should have taken her shoes and socks off before putting her feet up

you're focusing on the person here and letting their attitude get you worked up. Feet on seats? In the grand scheme of things, the person with [insert communicable disease] who sneezes, coughs, picks nose and then touches handles, straps, buttons - even just breathing - probably represents a far greater potential harm than Miss feet on seats. Using your foot for a cross button? It's not a case of germ transmission - those would already be there from countless other sources.

Your'e right of course re the germ transmission, despite that there are things we should and shouldn't do only because it is not the right thing to do.
