PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Just a quick update. Received an email from Qantas with new itinerary indicated success for the upgrade to F.

Now to figure out if (and how) to get the SO into a spa...if at all possible. I guess I have some reading to do in the QF thread.

BTW thanks again Matt for checking the loading/availability.

Well done, a nice early confirmation, that is!

On the spa thing, I've not had the pleasure, but apparently a QF First Host will be in touch prior for confirmed bookings (including awards). Agree some searching elsewhere on AFF will yield better results. There's plenty of experience on here!

Enjoy the trip!

Cheers,
Matt.

I would be incredibly appreciative if someone could check what my chances are of being points upgraded from J to F on the following flights:
Saturday 11 February: QF93 MEL-LAX
Thursday 23 February: QF94 LAX-MEL

I have pre-selected seats 13E for both flights, but am really hoping my points upgrade request is successful for at least one of the legs.

Hello, I'm hoping someone can check for me loadings on QF27 SYD-SCL on the 7th Feb.

also for QF28 SCL-SYD on the 21st Feb, realising this is quite far out.

I'm QF WP, hoping for Y to J upgrade, settle for Y+

Many thanks in advance.

Thank you serfty, as I expected tbh.

Just hope my shadow holds on 43k.

Many thanks again, for the super quick response :)

Looks busy, J has surprisingly low availability.Being a domestic flight, it sometimes helps to look at the surrounding flights on the same sector:

Thanks serfty. SMS came through at 9:02am confirming upgrade for the two of us on QF433 SYD to MEL for 26 January, departing at 12:30pm, so about T-27 which is quite good.
Still a few seats available in J when I go in and select seats. Looking forward to it!

Hi All, I asked about this a few weeks ago, my SYD->HKG flight (QF127) was almost empty in J.... a group of 10 could have upgraded from NB! Closing in on my overnight return flight, WP hoping for an upgrade for the whole entourage (4 of us), HKG->SYD, 30th Jan.... currently in Y on QF128 but I could switch to QF118. I very much appreciate the effort required for this thread.
