no space between words when replying within chrome

Firstly, thank you to all those who helped me identify the problem. As I said in an earlier post, I'm unable to replicate it.

It seems that the latest version of the Chrome browser (Version 54.0.2840.71, possibly others) has introduced a bug or incompatibility with the version of CKEditor used in vBulletin. If you attempt to use the "Reply With Quote" feature on an existing post and type a reply under the existing quote without hitting the Enter key first, the space bar will not work.

Until Google release a fix for this, you can get around this problem by simply hitting the Enter key before typing your post.

I have put up a warning message and instructions which displays for Chrome users. See screenshot.

Thanks - using the Enter key first works for me. I'm using 54.0.2840.98 (64-bit).

I've noticed that this problem has not occurred within the last 24 hours.

Just tried again - No need to hit Enter or B and it now works fine? Something's afoot behind the scenes!

Failed for me within the last 5 mins.
I have found that if you start typing beside the ] at the end of the quoted text, then there is no problem. And when you post it puts in the carriage return and pushes your typed text below the quote - as per this post.

Guys I've found this to work for me. Go into Settings-->General Settings and scroll down until you see Micellaneous Options and in the Message Editor Interface change it to Standard Editor then save changes. That should work.

So under General Settings which is below Edit Email & Password when you select that and scroll down you guys do not see a Miscellaneous Options?

You don't do this in Chrome btw you do this in your AFF settings.

Ah well, you didn't specify that it was in AFF Settings, Bru! :)

Why should one have to change AFF settings for the world's most popular web browser? A fault in the AFF forum software.

Well for now it's a fix nevertheless until it's fixed properly. You're happy to revert back to the old way if you like.

Just started using Opera and ran into this problem. And no, it's not restricted to AFF.

There's a fair discussion of it here which may throw some light on it for people more technically savvy than me.
