i've been having this issue for a few weeks now.

only happens within chrome, but happened on multiple computers.

only happens when replying to a thread post. if creating a new threat or post then i get a space between words.

on same pc if using edge browser then no issues.

not sure what would be causing this.

I've been getting the same using Chrome but it is intermittent (this post happens to be OK).

I think the issue has been mentioned elsewhere, but I can't recall which thread.

I had the same yesterday, just clicking on the B in the little taskbar fixes it

Yes same problem for me too.
Back to Safari for me.

what does google have against AFF

it;s only a conspiracy till you have proof

This is a problem in Google Chrome where the WYSIWYG editing mode plays up. You can disable WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) in your settings permanently or by clicking the highlighted button on a post-by-post basis. The difference is that you'll see code tags around formatting instead of having the word formatted on the fly.

No the problem is with the AFF forum software. Problem with spaces is ONLY on AFF. AFF should fix the issue.

Nope that's not it.

If it was as you say the problem would occur with other sites. It does not. It appears to be an AFF only problem.

Previously reported was an issue with Firefox where quoting a response meant the cursor at some point would just to the end of the quoted section even if you had already typed a few words. This has been an issue for roughly a year with Firefox and the AFF forum software. Does not happen on other forums, so agree with others, there are some serious usability issues with the forum software.

I'm unable to replicate this problem. That said, enough of our members are reporting this problem so it must be an issue.

Initial research shows that there are compatibility issues with the WYSIWYG editor vBulletin uses and some versions of Chrome - but I can't seem to find a definitive explanation of the problem and a solution. Also, not being able to replicate the problem doesn't help!

Issue could be related to how vBulletin is implemented on AFF. Will continue investigating...

Apologies for any inconvenience.

i found today if I bolded then unbolded before i started typing in a reply that spaces worked

relatively easy work around for now.

I've bene using version 54.0.2840.99 m

now doing an update so will see how that goes

theupdate to 55.0.2883.75 m didn't fix the issue.

bolding and unbolding still a good work around.

I'm using Version 54.0.2840.99 m

For me it happens when I click 'reply with quote' and start typing below the quote using the quick reply window that pops up.
