Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Any recommendations for the amex $99+ Cracka purchase? I also have a referral credit to use.

FWIW I had considered - 2012 De Bortoli Regional Reserve Yarra Valley Chardonnay at $29.99/$18.99 so $227 - 25 = $202 less amex credit

- 2015 Mystery 97 Point Barossa Shiraz $59.99/$19.99

Any ideas on the Mystery Shiraz?

Do Cashrewards offer a referral credit?

Cracka wines 2015 mystery Barossa shiraz appears to be 201 Allegiance Artisan Barossa shiraz. When I looked for wine making specs all I could find there was a sku no. As for the trophy, it appears to be at the latest Cairns Wine Show for the best designed Label! I've heard of people drinking labels but this is ridiculous.

Innocent bystander Syrah 2014
Not to be missed at $14.44/bt delivered after referral/AmEx/Cashrewards - I paid $12.58 at The Den - perhaps not quite as good as Winefront's 95pts suggests, but definitely a bargain :)

95pt Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz 2014 ~$13/bt delivered after $25 referral, $20 AmEx, 8% Cashrewards

I also contemplated the D'Arenburg D'arry SG at $14.99, a reliable drop - https://www.crackawines.com.au/product/2013-d-arenberg-d-arrys-original-shiraz-grenache

12pk :(

There are a few good ones in the Premium Pointed Pack - https://www.crackawines.com.au/product/premium-pointed-pack-2-0

perhaps a few but not (good) enough :)

I take it there is no referral credit for Cashrewards site?

sorry forgot to add:

no worries - although cashrewards is now offering a $5 sign-up bonus :)

If you dont already have a 6 pack of the seppelt Chalamaber 2014 shiraz in your cellar then that is singlehandedly the best deal available for the cracka wines. It makes the D'Arry look like a cask wine IMHO.

Was offered Chalambar 2014 for $15/bot from TWE direct today (cellardoor.co). If you're a member then maybe get it there, and save your Cracka discount for something else.

That's bloody expensive for Vat 9 considering members pay $60/bottle for current release. Was it an old vintage?

But I'm not a member. And for non-members, it's sold out.
Dunno what the situation is for members - good arbitrage opportunity if you can get yourself a bunch of bottles I guess.

The point is not so much what I spent, but the fact that there is no universal concept of "value" - what one person might think is "expensive", another person thinks is "cheap" - hence why there are Chateau/Domaines in France that are able to sell single bottles at $2k+. Likewise someone else might think something's good value, and someone else goes I'd rather pay 2-10x as much to drink something something better.

The Vat9 probably isn't the cheapest I can get it, but sometimes you just have to carpe diem. Wasn't the most expensive wine I bought today. Nor the cheapest. Drinking a 2008 D'Arenberg Coppermine Road tonight, which I paid $40 for - now this is good value IMHO :)
