Do you tip etihad and Emirates drivers?

I have used the chauffeur service offered by both EY and EK and have not tipped. It was not expected by any of the drivers and the level of service has always been very good.

This has been the case in AUH, DXB, BNE and several EU airports

Yes thanks for the information. I rang Etihad tonight and they changed the time of my chauffeur to 9:30am (we arrive about 5:30am) and told me to remind them at the chauffeur desk upon arrival of the time required and we could spend the 4 hours in the arrivals lounge if we liked.

I got an F flight coming up in August with a car booked to MEL. What kind of cars do they use for F? Is it same as J ? Thanks.

I believe J gets either a chrysler 300 or Holden Statesman. F has a choice of a BMW 7 series , or Audi A8, but memory is a bit hazy on that one.

OH i like that! Thanks so much for the reply. :)

New lounge nice car bed and couch. I love AA points....

In SYD/BNE got either Mercedes E class or BMW 7.
In AUH always got the same car - Audi A6.

I remember someone on this thread mentioned that these guys are who Etihad use in Melbourne.
Chauffeured Cars and Executive Limousine Hire Sydney & Melbourne

so a correction:

J:
Chrysler 300C
Holden Caprice.

F: (potentially)
BMW 7
Audi A8
Audi S8
Mercedes S-class
JAG XJL
Range Rover Vouge

for me, if I could choose I'd go the S-class assuming it has the upgraded seats. I don't think i've ever been in a passenger car so comfortable at the back. Ultra soft leather (lamb's perhaps?) with massage function...

Sounds like the Saloon version. Got it last month in CDG, indeed most comfortable :)

Hi all,
Ive read through the thread and I can fairly say I'm right that I should be getting a complimentary chauffeur service for my booking, but contact centre refuses to book in the chaffeur for me saying that my ticket is not eligible. Ive just bought 2 x business reward seats via velocity frequent flyer from KUL-AUH. It is on an etihad airways metal EY0413. Am I or am I not eligible for a complimentary chauffeur on one of the leg? Please advise. Thanks.

In my experience you are eligible I'm travelling on a business reward ticket to Europe purchased with my velocity points & I've got limo transfers booked all the way.

KUL does not have CD. https://www.etihad.com/en-us/plan-and-book/book-chauffeur/

Hi! I knew about KUL, but I'm interested to book the chauffeur on arrival in AUH.

Just gotta call back and hopefully the next operator will be more informed. I literally got off the phone with someone booking one from MEL. Like you, they were J seats redeemed through VA. The operator had to 'check' whether I was even eligible.

Glad I found this thread. Booked reward J seats and the online eligibility for the chauffeur drive said not eligible and to contact them directly. I'm flying DUB-AUH-SYD and chauffeur drive is available in both DUB and SYD.

*update*
Called back the global contact centre and had the chauffeur booked for AUH with no problem. Waiting for the confirmation email now. Like kaktusdigital said, just need to try till you get someone who is well informed.

Thanks all.

I have done 2 J saver rewards with VA points from Australia to Europe and UAE within the last 12 months and had chauffeurs each time no problems. Booked on line through Etihad with Etihad booking number as my reference number.

When is the best time to book the chauffeur? It feels weird booking it 6-9 months ahead.
