Is it possible to put your Qantas Club renewal on hold for 12 months and then take it up again without the joining Fee?

Not as far as I'm aware. You usually get a month or so 'grace period' where they'll send you reminders to join. But after that I think it's a new joining fee. Although on this I'm more than happy to be wrong :)

Unfortunately not, as far as I am aware. Your membership can be backdated, i.e. you could renew many months after it expired without paying the joining fee again, however you would need to pay for all of the months between the expiry date and the renewal date in order to avoid the joining fee. Once the membership has lapsed more than about 6 months, this becomes uneconomical.

Having said that, I guess you could always give Qantas a call and see what they say.

I've made enquiries about this previously. Can't be done.

I was processing the Qantas Club renewals for AFF for a few years and have asked pretty much all the questions you could imagine. The answer that Mattg has give is correct.

As Mattg also states it never hurts to ask as sometimes you will get a surprise positive answer.

Sure there are many doctors that will write you letter saying you have had kids

I like the kid bit but may be not for a 66 year old.
Thanks to all for your replies
