How long should I expect the wait for Qantas to answer my call?

I want to inquire about a multi-city booking on Qantas which cannot be processed online. When I rang, I was informed that my wait would be at least 60 minutes and so far it has been more than 80 minutes. What waiting time have others experienced?

I prefer iinet's policy. They ring back when it is your turn. So much friendlier.

They do offer call backs - at least sometimes (maybe not always it seems).

Bottom line - QF is well aware of the issues for extended call times. They have known for months via AFF. Don't seem to be too concerned.

I guess the bean counters have found another way to transfer costs to their customers.

I don't like to wait so I sympathise. Called 4 or 5 times lately. I've been offered call backs everytime. All worked and only a few minutes wait anyway.

I have written in to the frequent flyer department several times with no response regarding the frequent flyer membership invoicing and charging my poor Granddaughter for QF membership ( almost 90 dollars) ( only 5 years old) when there is suppose to be no charging for new QF New frequent Flyer Membership to the end of this year because of Qantas 95th Birthday. Obviously not applied.

( OK the charged my Credit Card but it is a bit steep considering it's free)

RedRoo help with this would be great !

Thanks in advance RedRoo

I had my phone on speaker so was able to get on with other times to a certain extent. While I was waiting, I sent Customer Care an email about how long I had been on the line. I received an automated reply from them saying that if the matter was urgent, I could ring 131313, which is the number I was holding on for. I finally gave up after 2 hours.

Maybe the answer is to keep ringing until I am offered a call back.

SQ is an alternative for part of my travel plans; getting to and from Singapore. That part I can easily book online. And their flight times are much better than QF. It's starting to sound like a no-brainer.

What an interesting way to do business!

As I mentioned in another thread, I had to call Qantas several times this week. As a Gold member, I had to wait more than 45 minutes to get through at one point. The other times were closer to 30 minutes. If this is how Qantas treats customers with status, I'd hate to think how long other people are waiting...

Does anyone know of any tricks to get them to pick up faster?

With those wait times, I'd probably use a travel agent or another website and make QF pay a commission on it. That's truly pathetic.
As a WP, I've noticed wait times have gone from practically none to 10-15 mins at times. No comparison to your experience though.
