Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Yes, they have bumped the prices substantially. I should have kept it quiet longer for my subscribers, will next time.

Disappointed somebody from this Forum (or maybe - less likely - your membership) called out this code on such a prominent website. No wonder TWE scrambled to up the prices. I wonder what can be done to prevent this again. Probably nothing absent you keeping it amongst your private membership and not passing it on. Which would be such a shame. Maybe put the general offer out and get people to PM you for the code, and you can control who gets the inside track, and maybe get them to confirm first they won't pass it on to lots of others or to post it publically.

Poster on Ozbargain was Tonester, quoting AFF as a source.

But it was probably a wine retailer/wholesaler (most likely) or TWE staff member that actually raised the alarm.
I have a few retailers and other industry people as subscribers, so could have been one of them.
There is a little bit of a crossover from here to my site now, I encourage my members not to initiate posting info here or other sites, I do it occasionally, usually VinoMofo stuff, but I guess I'll be more circumspect in future.

Probably a silly question, but have located some (unsure how many, will report back tomorrow) bottles of the famed St Henri 2010 for original retail Price ($95) each. I think i've pretty much convinced myself to buy a bottle, but is this a decent price for this vintage nowadays? What were people buying them down as low as when they were released?

I think we got ours at ~$72/bottle when it was released.

Definitely a good price. I think the last couple of them sold on Langton's were >$100 plus the premium.

Now spill the beans after you've bought yours. No I won't post it on OzB :p

I don't think you are quite in the realm of the Ozbargainers RB, if there is a secret to be found they don't stay secret for long once one of them gets hold of it! And they are great at stealing ideas from other forums.

Following up on yesterdays 2010 St Henri - I picked up two bottles in store for $95 each. There's one left in store, and I asked the assistant if there were any more in stock. He got back to me an hour ago with notes that there is definitely a dozen (and quite likely more; he was a little cagey as I told him I was inquiring on behalf of friends - we're all friends here, right?) in their warehouse. $95 was a firm price per bottle, no discounts. It's under screwcap, by the way, and my bottles were tissue-wrapped.

The retailer is Mr Liquor on Victoria St Darlinghurst, phone 02 9357 2855. Hope this info is useful!

Just to submit a new topic. . . Has anyone ever had 2009 Pirramimma ACJ before? Got offered what looks like a good price, but unsure of the blend. Just looking for some feedback. Thanks

Apparently my St George has been shipped today.

I'm pretty sure it will be shipped, the darn thing has once again appeared on WM's own website. Shot them an email asking for a please explain why some people managed to get theirs while others have got a refund and why a supposedly out of stock wine appeared on their website.

You'll probably get the same story other people did. They said they were expecting more stock this week, and whilst I was initially skeptical, it looks like that was true.

Well I decided to jump on today, at $25 per bottle it is hard to say no. I had some of the pyrus and loved it so hope this is as good. I procrastinated last time and missed out and I reckon this was my last chance. Like everyone else I hope it will arrive but I assume if it was on the website they obviously managed to get their hands on more.

Are there 20% off codes again?

EDIT: found it...it's "CLOUD100" for over $100 purchase.

I acquired the ACJ 2010 when I was bored and just buying on Grays one night - luckily I am rarely in that wifely browsing zone! I acquired them because they had a 95 JH rating and a challenge: to open with extreme caution in 2025! I should totally try it at this 5/6 year mark, just to see what drinking a grape road side bomb tastes like! I am guessing the 09 will be a fruit bomb too. What's the price on offer, WineNot?

Right - I blame you Mini2 for encouraging me to buy a 6 Pack of the St George 12! With 20% off and 10% cash back - $23.20 a bottle (delivered) was just too tempting ...!!

I should deflect the blame to Alzoam for mentioning his Pyrus are $25 a bottle and that got me looking.

Guilty as charged but it was the st George I jumped on, bought the pyrus a few months ago but only because the st George had sold out and they doubted they would get more.
