AA's Admirals Club 30-day Membership: QF lounge access?

I have a friend travelling to the states (MEL-LAX-JFK-LAX-MEL)

I am doing that exact same sequence of flights next month, QF for international then AA for internal and I wonder if anyone can shed some light on lounge access for a QC member. Can I access the Admirals Club lounge at LAX / JFK between flights ?

I believe the Admirals Club rules specifically state that 30 Day pass holders are allowed two guests. Not sure if Qantas will honour this, but I think that the answer is technically 'yes'.

From the AA website:

As long as you’re accompanying your guests, you’re allowed 2 guests or immediate family if you’re an:

QF lounge access with an Admirals Club 30 day membership may be back on for both AA & QF marketed flights.

I just saw this:

And I have just checked the AA website, which now says:

As an Admirals Club annual, lifetime or 30-day member, Citi[SUP]®[/SUP] / AAdvantage[SUP]®[/SUP] Executive Card primary cardholder, or AirPass member with Admirals Club privileges, you’re welcome to access:

• All domestic Admirals Club locations
• All international Admirals Club locations when holding a same-day ticket for airline travel that allows clearance through security for flight departure
• Select Qantas Clubs when departing on the same day on a Qantas operated flight or an American marketed flight operated by Qantas

Which is a bit of tautology because "an American marketed flight operated by Qantas" would describe a subset of those flights that could be described as "a Qantas operated flight".

Perhaps they decided to change this after the announcement of AA flying to Australia and closer ties between AA/QF?

This would seem to be good news either way.

In the International QF lounge in Melbourne. Very pleasant QF service ladies at the desk. Myself, daughter and daughter's friend. Desk lady said that I was only entitled to 1 guest. I replied that it states 2 on the AA website. Her response, "That's ok. They can both come in."

At present in the LAX oneworld lounge utilising the 30 day AA mebmbership. Took a chance at seeing if they would allow us in and were prepared to walk over to terminal 4 to use the Admirals Club. From all that I have read and the replies from AA, we were not entitled to access, however, the entrance attendant only baulked at having 2 guests. She checked several guests memberships when they checked in and guested my second guest in. So happy!

Unfortunately not. The AA membership only provides lounge access when you are flying QF or AA.

Am going to LOTFAP next month for 40 days with the junior hoppers on QF17/18. Have read huge chunks of this thread but I'm still unclear on whether a 1 day Admirals Club pass will be accepted in SYD before we travel? I'm only a lowly Silver.

We were on an AA flight number operated by QF, travelling MEL to LAX. I had a 30 day Admirals Club membership and all 3 of us were admitted to the Qantas International Business Lounge at MEL. Initially, I was only permitted one guest, (my daughter), but the attendant allowed my daughter's friend in as well.
Also used the AA lounge in Terminal 4 at LAX.

I don't believe you will be able to access the Qantas lounge in SYD, flying Qantas, using a 1 day Admirals Club Pass. You would need the 30 day membership.

I have confirmed that the One Day Pass is only good for AA branded pubs.
