I only booked a week or so ago, nothing in emerald city so I'm in 21K over but am in 13K on the way back :D

That's reason enough alone for your upgrade request to come through!!!

I know, right? Plus I've never flown in F before so would really, really love to experience it!

With a bit of luck RedRoo might smile upon you and make you First dream come true!

I'll probably die of excitement if it happens! I don't like my chances as I'm only SG but the loading is showing F9 A8 which is something at least.

Mrsdrron has been able to upgrade us to F the last couple of times on QF 11 including in May this year.
But I dont get this flying on to JFK in J.In May we flew SYD-LAX-DFW-LGA.Now that is true AFF style-360 SCs instead of 280.

So after multiple failed attempts to lodge an upgrade request for this flight I had resigned myself to slumming it in J - in emerald city of course. However I ran into problems trying to select a seat online so of course I called the plat line and was assured I had 13E. I've just checked in for tomorrow's flight and lo and behold I'm in 20k. Really really annoyed that Qantas can't sort out the seat maps, upgrade process for those going on QF11 all the way to JFK. Particularly annoyed that so many calls to the platinum line have resulted in no change. First world problems of course but surely they shouldn't have this much trouble with upgrade/seat requests. Disappointing

Sorry to hear that. That must be a little frustrating especially seeing as they had assured you of 13E. 20K is annoying because not all of the side storage bins open there from memory. I'm still in 21K the following day unless the Qantas upgrade fairy surprises me but with only 4 F seats left at T-43 hours it's looking almost impossible. Hoping at least theres a spare window seat in emerald city when i check in but also not holding my breath.

Mmm it sure is frustrating but I'll live ha! You never know your luck, you may still get the magic text tomorrow!! Four seats means there is still hope!
