After you log in, from the home page click 'I want to...' ' View my profile'
Then click '5. Flight Preferences'. Scroll down and you have the option to choose a Special Meal Selection.

Quick Question,

How often are there vegetarian options in the dinner boxes/Are there any vego options for purchase etc?

Occasionally one of the choices is a salad but may have meat with it.

No food available for purchase on Qantas domestic.

On a short flight I had the diabetic meal which was a whole meal sandwich with ham, cheese and tomato, my mate got the Halal meal which was the same sandwich minus the ham. original

As others have said, none for purchase. This was the "salad" option on last Thursday's 694: pearl cous-cous with feta and tomato:

That option doesn't show in my profile either. I think it's because I've never ordered a special meal. Once registered on your profile, I think you can then change it, if you wish.

I've sent them an email, so should all be good to go.. hopefully this means they will have a vego meal loaded and ready to go.. But I wouldn't be too fussed or worried on short domestic sectors.

I do agree! I simply can't get fussed about anything much on short domestic flights: seating, meals, shadows.... For an hour or two? Why stress?

Priority boarding does make a difference but the rest is much like a bus ride. (Although my flights are much more frequent than my bus rides, I must say. )

Have you tried managing your request on the individual booking instead of your FF profile?

Yes, Medhead, that does work for individual flight requests.
But my post referred back to JessicaTam's suggestion for recording the preference in your Profile.

For some reason, it seems that can only be done initially by direct contact with QF:

I won't attempt another quote, as this message has disappeared twice, so far, before I've clicked to post, but I recall reading that you can change a preference in your Profile once it's recorded. I can't even hazard a guess as to the reason for the two step process.

I didn't realise they had diabetic meals.

"Bangers and Mash" on tonight's 479 - perhaps the *most* tasty meal I've had on QF in years! Far better than it's bland appearance!! Really herby sausages, a to-die-for gravy, creamy mash. (OK, frozen peas!)

It may be to stop people setting a preference on a whim. Going out of your way to contact QF would be good discouragement.
