IHG have stated they want 10-15 new properties in hi he near future.
Apologies but I cant make sense of your statement. 10-15 new properties in the near future? Where in Brisbane or Australia?

10-15 in Australia, no one has or wants 10-15 in Brisbane as far as they are concerned! although Accor has that many.

IC AMS: very beautiful hotel by the Amstel River. It is a pricey hotel, I booked on points
IC Paris Marceau: small boutique hotel, the service was great. Nice location next to the Champs Elysees

Quick question folks, am I best off using my pp free breakfast voucher at the CP per or HI per?

Any chance of an opinion on the HI Darling Harbour?

Since the CP Norwest is leaving IHG come 1 APR I'm needing to move a booking and hoping to keep it within the IHG Family

I have always liked it, have not stayed for a few years .

Do you mean for a stay?

Been twice since December both times upgraded, it is a fun location. breakfast gets insanely busy... Generally, a busy place!

Does anyone have experience with the HI Parramatta?

I'm not going for the view but rather as a base for visiting family in the northwest of SYD

Stayed at the place when it was the courtyard by Marriott. Seems good value.

Stayed there last month. Rooms are good and walking distance from the train. Helpful staff and no problems

Last year as a Plat, I was upgraded from a base room to a suite - you walk straight into a small lounge room with sofa bed then past the bathroom which contains a spa/shower combo (so difficult to get in and out of), then onto the bedroom. The suite would be perfect for a family - put the little one to bed in a quiet room.

Breakfast was only ok - no coffee machine just awful coffee in airpots.
The lobby is nice for evening snacks and drinks.

3 different times in the last 6 months.

Good at recognizing Plats.

Evening dinner staff is very friendly and food is surprisingly good for an HI.

Breakfast can be a touch hectic with the tour buses.

Suites come with nespresso machine (good as the breakfast does not have a machine).

-oh and the priority privilege this month is free breakfast but watch out for the 'complimentary bottle of wine promotion' for pp it is in lieu of the normal 50% dining for two on PP card (which i think is a rort).

Have stayed also in a suite. Fair sized room. Very decent service especially in the restaurant. Would not hesitate to recommend for a good value stay.

Looking for any opinions on the IC Hong Kong and if its worth the price. PP website isn't showing any BOGO or discounts available for my dates, except 10% adv purchase but its cheaper on the IC website booking ahead. Looking at Harbour View room and maybe Lounge access but it's expensive!

For something different with a bit of history

IC 'The Willard' Washington D.C 1401 Pennsylvania Ave NW just around the corner from Michelle and Barack's place.
Book a superior room and with an Ambassador upgrade and you are in one of their Junior Suites.

Classic heritage property with everything you need in a great location - Hit the many great bars and restaurants in Georgetown for a good night out.

Highly recommend it

The other IC tends to do upgrades better.

Thanks Markis.

The reviews for the Stanford IC say its a bit out dated, so I'm not sure if the extra cost is worth the benefit of going to the IC with the better view?, better Lounge? etc. I've never been to HK and wanted to stay somewhere, "nice".

Finished 2014 with 140 odd night at IHG in Australia, thought I would post an update on my preferences:

IC Sanctuary Cove - Pool or Marina view rooms are closest, love the club and restaurant. Suites are so so.
CP Surfers - The "executive" rooms at each floor end are brilliant, massive bathroom.
CP Hunter Valley - Love the villas, but the property has some quirks, good value if under $150.
CP Newcastle - Port side rooms, especially ones with a balcony, my son and I spend a few hours just watching the port movements and then tracking them online.
IC Sydney - Eastern rooms are the pick although some may prefer the northern rooms with many offering nice Quay views, the club is worth the money. Despite the ancient bathroom with shower in the bath, I always enjoy staying here.
IC Double Bay - Why oh why close the pool at sunset, any room is good here but with only 160, there are not too many options, village view is,once with its balcony.
HI Potts Point - the only IHG property in SYD with a guest laundry, go for a harbour view room. Popular with flight crew ;). If you stay and like Greek, a short stroll to Apollo is a must. No Pool.
HI Darling Harbour - Exec rooms are nice but no pool and a good walk to most locales.
HI Old Sydney - not a great Saturday night option wi the local pub crawls noisy and then the Sunday market setups, best left for the tourists.
HI Sydney- Quiet but dead area, and pool is really a spa bath in the basement.
CP Coogee - great locale for a holiday but noisy if ATC decide to load share the jets, go for an ocean room. And Coogee is not the same as Clovelly when your looking for the last bus of the night after AFF trivia with a few drinks .
HI Warwick Farm - nice but a WIP, will be better when renovations are done. Often cheap, quiet but rubbish internet.
HI Parramatta - One of the few businesses still trading in Parramatta outside of Westfield, close to trains and usually quiet, Platinums usually get a suite even on reward stays. Staff are very good.
CP Canberra - Nice with park room views the best.
IC Rialto - Exec rooms are nice but club is poor value.
HI flinders Lane - Nice bit watch the base room facing West, they are tiny.
CP Melbourne - Old and tired but locale is getting better.
HI Melbourne Airport - sometimes a good option when downtown is 2x the price, and is quiet.
CP Adelaide - soulless, but just around the corner from the mall.
IC Adelaide - Go the club, hard to get a bad room here and with it's three atriums very quiet, small pool and parking is expensive.
