QR J in Doha - which lounge

Anyway as a Sapphire flying economy, the lounge I was allocated, was indeed the finest lounge I had ever visited. The architecture alone was worth the visit. Simply huge, spacious, and sophisticated. Enjoy.

How does it compare to other top lounges such as DXB EK F lounge and SYD QF F lounge ?

I went to all 3 QR lounges in Doha a few weeks back; but that was because I didn't know which one I was supposed to attend. Are you sure this is right? OW Sapphire flying in Y get access to the Al Mourjan Lounge? If so that would be great, but the AusBT review says even Emerald don't have access - must be flying J or F.

Personally, I think this was a temporary arrangement; and I just got lucky. I actually went to 2 other lounges first and was then re-directed to the Al Mourjan Lounge - maybe the regular lounge was under repair (or not yet built)?

Hi Browski maybe you missed my question but can you please address it if you get a chance I am very keen to know. Cheers.

Not flying that till very early July.

From the reading I've done, the A350 is going to Frankfurt first. However, releases also have suggested it will be on the Perth route in "early 2015".

I eagerly await your reports :)

You sound like me - I've been following reports of the A350 as well.

Saw this which might be of interest

"Fast-growing Qatar launched commercial flights with its wide-body A350, which seats 36 passengers in business and 247 in economy, between Frankfurt and Doha, and said its second A350 would serve the same twice-daily route from March."

and then

" It expects eight of the aircraft to be delivered during 2015."

So by the looks of it an aircraft delivered every month and a half. Unlikely the a350 will serve perth prior to April. Then if it is not the next destination of the rank - it may not be until july/august!

My flight is October - so fingers crossed!

My trip this month is still on a 773. Not sure if that's good or bad.

The A350 J seats are almost 50% wider I believe

Fingers crossed Perth is next after Singapore, however AL Baker has nominated a number of destinations

The good news is they seem to go from delivery to "in use" very quickly

I doubt they'll use A350's to Perth since they had used 787's before then changed it back to 777's.

Al Baker has stated that Perth will be an "a350 destination". However the big presser in Frankfurt - he named a number of destinations but left Perth off this time

My guess is after Singapore - New York will be next!

Not according to seat guru. Both 22" wide

The 787 has almost half the J capacity as the 777's they use to Perth and the A350. Possible reason perhaps?

I'm surprised they get enough bums on seats in and out of PER.

Interesting. I read an article saying the seats on the A350 were the same as the 787. Hence the conclusions I came too. Surely the A350 isn't that much wider than the 787?

Perhaps the 30" is the new "double bed" J seat which is supposedly coming in 2016

I doubt however that is on the A350s yet
