The bureaucrats can only plaigarise names not routines - TfNSW taken from "Transport for London", TfL. Their uniform changes went like clockwork, bit like the money they're spending on signalling to get 36 trains per hour on virtually all routes in peak times.

Considering many of the senior staff are ex TfL or Tube, I'm not surprised.

The earlier point about taking fire stations offline is a good summary of the situation.

As bad as this government is, I don't have faith in the other mob either.

I was going to have a sleep in after my sookylala to my manager & then I found out that a former Australian league player just got signed to the NHL. He'll probably be the back up goalie for the Sharks against the Flames this afternoon but "making the show" is making the show even if you're the back up goalie.

Ouch  :(. Believe I have an aphthous ulcer (mouth). Can't remember having had one since I had braces in my teens. Keep getting reminded that it's there, but can't see a need for a doctor visit to be told that it'll go away in a few days.

Must get de-stressed. ;)

Get some Bongela from the chemist or try rubbing Vegemite on it  it really works !

Just received my new phone complete with 27 MP camera.. Look out AFF!!!
Now... how to use it... :-|
What is this new fangled touch screen business....

Unfortunately it was her being trained, rather than her training somebody - so no Council involvement.

Have heard from another neighbour who was also woken to the noise - the wife of the pilot.

"Jacqui" is not making friends this morning...

She had finished her PT session when I returned

Even on weekdays in suburban areas you are not allowed to make any noise before 7am.

The more I've dug into various happenings (asbestos coverups, BER fraud, zoning funnies etc) the more I have learned that the following apply:

$$$ The more money involved often the more 'unusual' the outcome
$$$ Blue, Green or Red - the motives seem to be the same
$$$ Colours may change but 99.8% of bureaucrats do not
$$$ Change within any large organisation whether public or private only succeeds when the internal power base approves of it or are pushed out (CBA HR famous example)
$$$ Money or the lobbyists with the most win over the community 99 time out of 99!

BTW Good example of this in SMH today:
Summits won't solve city's Jumbo problem
Summits won't solve city's Jumbo problem

"Trust," said Professor Riek Bakker, former director of Rotterdam's dramatic renewal. "Making cities is all about trust. You must build a very long period of trust. Without it, city-making cannot work. Trust. Trust. Trust."

It was one of several moments when last week's Bays Precinct summit, designed to bob in the G20's wake, seemed also to echo its dominant mode: delivering stern international wisdom to the home team. Sadly, there's also the same doubt about whether the home team was, well, home.

Bakker is right. Trust is core. But trust is what, over 20 years, our governments have systematically destroyed. The summit, for all its jolliness, continued that work. Even the word "summit" implies a celestialism that is taken to justify hundreds of experts deliberating for three days on 80 hectares of public land at a table that specifically excludes the owners, the public.

Bit like approving a private sector 8 storey hotel on Royal Randwick Racecourse with a 5,000 person outdoor liquor license for 365 days a year. RRR is Crown Land dedicated in perpetuity for the benefit of the people of NSW not property developers nor the ATC.

Have not seen any colour party talking about this....

Gotta love schedule changes. Travel is mid next year so no doubt plenty more to come.

Initially priced fare a week and a half ago with outbound 6hr connection in LAX, 2hr returning.

Schedule change - 2.5hr connection outbound, same inbound. Booked. Perfect.

Three days after booking. Schedule change. 45min connection outbound, 7hr connection inbound.

Should I change now or just leave to closer to travel date?

Interesting to note Sydney has a large proportion of 457 visas holders, mainly issued to white collar workers in managerial roles.

Also Yarra trams is advesting for workers in the UK.

Mr Altieri said the tram operator had recently sacked some long-serving managers and replaced them with overseas managers.

Rinse with warm salty water.

I've still got holes in my cheeks from my surgery; it's making eating a delight at the moment. Lots of rinsing....

It varies depending on where you live and what sort of noise it is, Brisbane City council for Building Noise is 6.30AM start, animal noise is limited at all times and halves in allowable level overnight : No more than three minutes animal noise in any half-hour
