Wow oh wow. I must be a little late to all this but i was researching something tonight and had to refer to the QF status benefits page for the first time in a long time.

The new 'Platinum 1' column of benefits now includes 17 items which are not available to platinums. The way they have listed it makes platinum look rather sad!

The marketing spin on there is rather high IMHO.
I don't know what research QF have done but to advertise one of the benefits as "Waive Family Transfer Service Fee" when every man and his dog can do so free of charge online appears a bit desperate.
What this illustrates is that QF now definitely consider P1 as the top earned status and seem to be trying to actively market it as the top level. When it was introduced this wasn't so much the strategy.

The gap between SG and WP is shrinking?
Can be part of QF marketing strategy to show why there is no need to introduce LTP

The more I see the more I realise my original thoughts on Platinum One were spot on.

Platinum One = New Platinum
Platinum = Gold

Do not be surprised if current Platinum = Oneworld Sapphire in the not too distant future.

QF moving to PS = Nothing, SG = OWR, WP = OWS, P1 = OWE is sadly not that hard to imagine.

Shortly followed by my moving all my flying to VA

Agree with that, PF. The number of substantive differences is much smaller.
How are you going with your quest for BA LTG?

I haven't started yet. My plan is to get LTG with QF (probably 18 mths or so away). If nothing changes in the interim either on the projected travel front or QFF introducing LTP, then I will likely switch.

Sounds like a plan!
I haven't come up with a strategy yet. My partner and I are both LTG twice over, so we have really been rusted on QF supporters.
Both now have Star Gold also, courtesy of an AFF education.
I will maintain QFF Plat One for a year or two on current projections.
After that, who knows?
