Arrived this mornin (Sun.) in just under 24 hours, so Europe it will be up the pointed end again :)

Damn... Considering that I messed up cause I forgot to save the silly confirmation page....

Anyone know how I should proceed ? Been nearly 36h hours. What I did was buy 50+50 on my account. Then gifted 40+40 to my wife's account. Same card was used. Should I wait or call them?

Yikes, and I was concerned within 24 hours

I have had them take up to a week...

Bit the bullet and bought up the points. Now to think of when exactly to spend them.

Interesting that the Buy Miles portal allows you to purchase up to 80,000 miles; of course, in those cases the maximum bonus offered is still only 50,000 miles. (Buying the 130,000 points like that would give you an average rate of over 2c per mile rather than the standard optimum of 1.88c per mile).

As we all know still bargain compared to what QFF offers.

Promo has been extended until 12 October. Probably makes it less likely there will be a share promo in October.

Hmm maybe, not that I don't trust Gary but there has been a fair bit of misinformation on the merger the last year of so.

Anyone planning to fly anywhere in the next year would be crazy not to take advantage of this offer.

Who needs status when you can continually fly for cheap in premium cabins!!

If the offer has been extended (rather than just a new promotion), does that mean that if you've already bought and taken your 50,000 miles of bonus in the original period, you won't get another (or more) bonus?

I would suggest almost certainly ...

If someone had already filled their quota, what happens if they try to buy more? (Does any additional bonus show?)

Just tried to Buy (more) Miles after getting 50k + 50k the other day. Fill in my details in the first pop-up, add my email address once the pop-up goes away and select 50,000 + 50,000 for the desired purchase. Come the next page for the payment details, the text at the top in bold reads:

The cost to buy 50,000 + 0 Bonus miles is $1,881.25 (including taxes/fees)*

Some people claim that by using Buy and Gift separately they can effectively exploit the bonus twice, which is contrary to most previous advice....

EDIT: Just tried to Gift Miles using a family member as the purchaser and myself as the gift recipient. Selected 50,000 + 50,000 and then come the payment screen, seems to show that amount of miles will be given to the recipient. Whether it sticks or not I have no idea, but I don't want to commit the credit card to find out.

Weird, did a buy which went through fine, but when I tried to gift my wife points (using the same PayPal account) I got an error message saying the credit card information couldn't be confirmed....
I know there is plenty of space on the card, so it seems odd - anyone have any thoughts?

Purchased USDM on weekend, then today tried to top it up with another 20K + 15K, go to second page all good and correct, didn't commit though.

Completely new to this and looking for some help , we have 2 accounts with 0 balance that are a few months old, so If I buy the 80,000 and get the 50,000 bonus @$2800 US, can I then gift how much ? to my husbands account. Or is it better than he purchases the same and then we gift to each other...sorry have tried to back track and read up but just want to be sure of what I am doing. Also we plan to go to USA next year, so is it fairly easy to book J seats from Melbourne

We purchased ours separately and will advise operator we have two accounts when we book. Don't forget to allow for 7.5% USA tax and the current USD/AUD exchange rate when buying miles.

Two award seats in J from OZ to USA return is 220USDM in total - see award chart.

Award seats out of OZ ports in J to USA very hard to find even if booking 330 days out, but most here would find award seats on at least 2 other Oneworld sites like BA, AA, JL latter are free to join) or QF or use KVS tool first before calling, if no luck with operator hang up and call again (they vary).

You could consider as many do going to USA via Hong Kong, a fantastic vibrant safe city.

The USA airlines mile deals are sure worth it to put the hard yards in and be flexible on dates to find J/F flights when your paying 1/3 or less the J price.

Thanks Limewood and the gifting part of this offer, can you assist with that ?

so the gifted miles finally came through to the misses account. An attempt to purchase more miles with 100% bonus was still giving 100% of the miles. Risky to buy more?

The cost to buy 38,000 + 38,000 Bonus miles is $1,429.75 (including taxes/fees)*
*after I gifted 40k+40k....

I ended up buying and I'm now sitting on 813K between 4 accounts. Good for 4 NA F, 2 NA J and 1 SWP J awards.
