uh-oh. Usually means they are making some enhancements in the 'background' (but they can't manage that).

  • Some sections are temporarily unavailable and will be restored soon. Please continue to book and manage flights with confidence.
I think the SQ and MH web sites are much, much worse in terms of user-friendliness.

Premium line is also FUBAR.
Experiencing tech difficulties and would not recognise my number and told me to call again later.
Hurry up!!

What's odd is it was posted from the twitter website. They normally post via Radian6.

Maybe they now have a bot which generates Twitter apologies every 47 mins...just in case!

just relax, and continue to book flights with confidence :D

I told you our Social Media team isn't run by robots or a bunch of primary school kids! ;)

Yes, we're experiencing difficulties with qantas.com. While you can continue to book with confidence, not all functions are currently available.

Our team are working very hard to rectify this asap and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Certainly was not the case at 6pm CST. Mobile site referred you to book via the Phone number whilst the standard site (via IE and Firefox) simply didn't respond.

Maybe if you employed a bot then it wouldn't take QF 3.5 hrs to announce they had an issue ... ;)

Perhaps. Nor would I be "on" at this hour. ;)

The issues were intermittent, with some customers still able to access normal functionality.

qantas.com is back online now. Thanks for your patience during this time.

As much as we all appreciate the help and guidance that you bring to this forum (and I *do* mean that sincerely) ... if you are the one, sole "voice" of QF, providing this service outside of your normal working hours (as your post suggests) then the airline is in a bigger mess than even I give them (mis)credit for. TBH my "timing reference" was to the official Twitter feed, not yourself.

In this day and age, Social Media is both a medium and tool which companies cannot afford to take a machiavellian attitude to.

Now get off to bed or you'll be a tired Roo in the morning!!
