Take Off Sale - 2 x Points offer (+50% Bonus SC's for some)

The double points offer has just been posted on QF's Facebook page, so I guess it's open to all.

Was the 50% bonus SCs definitely targetted?
It appears so - of three family members who received an email referring to the 2 x points, only one also indicated 150% SC's.

Registering using the link on the latter was fully automated; no entry of FF number or surname required.

After a bit of ruminating, I decided to hold onto my money and just use my vouchers and see how far that gets me to Gold - if needs be, I'll buy some more at Xmas time and use before my renewal (28 Feb) - after the points have posted.

Whilst 1.5 SC's was tempting, trying up my money for 3+ months was the deal breaker.

I wish I had the 1.5 SCs offer as well. Booked trip from/to SIN, trip to/from HKG and trip to/from CNX. The additional 40,000+ QFF points was too tempting to ignore.

Given the sale was extended, do you think this promo was extended too?

Just booked some J flights BNE-SYD-LAX-BNE right in the stated period...

I'm not getting my hopes up

I had my first flights booked during this promotion on the weekend, SIN-SYD-BNE, and the bonus points have posted but they are not correct. :(

I received 2,600 bonus points for SIN-SYD (should have received 5,200 bonus points) and 800 bonus points for SYD-BNE.

This is simply not good enough but I am not surprised. Where to now? I should not have to chase up what is rightfully mine.

Am I the only one with this issue?

Called Premium help desk. Tried to tell me bonus points are for base points only. I asked her to read the last line in the terms and conditions regarding bonus points. She spent a fair bit of time away from phone discussing with supervisor.

Will call back.

Just checked mine, and the bonus points are for base points only. Perhaps I should have the same phone call myself as well.

She called me back yesterday to say they will call me back.

The terms and conditions could not be clearer about bonus points applying after the Status bonus has been added. They are looking to find some clause hidden somewhere or other to wriggle out of it.

The double bonus points were the only reason I booked my flights that far out.

The terms and conditions are certainly interesting: ( http://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn...am=au:edm:21JUL14:int:qff_registrationform:ht )

Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn bonus Qantas Points. The bonus Qantas Points offer may take up to 6 weeks after completion of travel to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. The bonus Qantas Points offer is added to the total Qantas Points earned after any applicable Status Bonus has been applied. ...

The part I have bolded simply states when the bonus points are to be added.

At no point in the page does it state specifically HOW the bonus points are to be calculated including on what points earn the "double bonus point" is based.

Very very poor ...

So for short domestic were 1600 points added? It should be base 400 plus status 400 = 800 then doubled to 1600 right? Or did they credit 400 plus 400 status plus 400 as double bonus on base points = 1200?

Confusing situation really

Not confusing. They credited an extra 800 bonus points for the domestic sector.
