Trick Question: Can someone tell me how many points and SC's I as a WP would earn on a Jetstar Plus Pack travelling on GK (Jetstar Japan) flight number and metal between cough and NRT?

meh - so qualification for gold USD1500 plus 4~ QF domestic. That seems fair to me :) Or did I miss something?

That table doesn't look any different to the one I looked at last week...

AA coded QR operated still earns at AA rates correct?

Correct. There has been some wild speculation (here on AFF) that things would improve for partner SC earn on non-compete routes. Pity....

Correct me if I am wrong....
But according to my calculations:
MNL - KUl at 1540 miles on J will get me 80 scs (all other flights)
whereas KUL - SYD at 4120 miles on J will get me 60 scs (between East Coast AU and Malaysia)
If correct....Simpler & Fairer?? per QF, definitely!!

It wasn't "wild speculation". It is something Qantas said they would "review" 3 months ago after they were flooded with complaints about it.

They reviewed it in the Simpler and Fairer CONtext and decided it was fair and simple hence no change.

While it is an improvement to clearly state the distance based requirement in the table for Qantas domestic flights. I'm not sure you'll be able to do that for the international earning table, which is fair self explanatory on the regions.

Of course the domestic distance thing puts the joke to qantas' claim of simplicity. They've gone from a pure distance based system to a mixed zone and distance based system. It is far easier to just find out the distance and then look up the earn in a table. Instead now we have to guess if distance applies or a zone applies.

The new system requires about 150 times the amount of analysis to work things out. Sure listing out every possible route will no longer be taller than Justin. But it still going to be pretty long with those distance components anyway. Or in other words the spin claiming simplicity is an outright insult to our intelligence. (But make sure you don't criticize the obvious lack of proof reading on the Qantas website)

Distance based - all other routes?

LOL given the clock has ticked over the deadline and nothing has changed for non-compete partner flights.....wild speculation turned out to be an apt description.

A bit like RR saying JASA and then MASA were here for good ;)

FWIW I don't care about removing MASA but partner earn on routes that QF have thrown in the towel are another story.

Same here, MASA|JASA did nothing for me. But the non-compete SCs is my concern too.

I found masa to be excellent for my SYD/Adl flights and I was more than happy to pay the premium for the earning on the route.

I guess the difference is that I barely earn points using credit cards - so there isn't much opportunity to take advantage of MASA's.However, as I've repeatedly said on other threads, i do not see using MASA/JASA as in anyway cheating the system to earn status. In fact I'm sure QF is happy for with the use of their quasi-currency as they make more profit from it.

I believe you are correct ... Intra Japan is only referred to under the "Codeshares" banner.

I've had a proper look now and I think I'm wrong. I can't see and intra japan region in the table.

I earn roughly the same from cards as from flying. Maybe 5:4 cards:flights.

Hi all,

I'm a little confused by the AA offering under the new terms and conditions... (QF kindly gave me another year on gold even though I failed to get the SC to hold it yay)

By Intra-USA flights, do they mean all internal/domestic flights excluding the trans-cons like LAX-NYC etc?

I have a trip planned where I will be flying AA F LAX-IAD-JFK-DFW-LAX and with the exception of IAD-JFK they are all over the 1000 mile bracket which should net me 90SC per flight. Does this mean I go down to 40SC flat per leg?

Thanks in advance!

Awesome! Thanks so much MarcB - I worked off this table but the whole Intra US earning rate threw me a bit

I've got the points to splurge, however JASA/MASA were useless for 4 x tickets. Classic awards on partners or QFF upgrades are the low hanging fruit for this family.

I think you are being very optimistic if you think getting a QFF upgrade is low hanging fruit!!! (especially if you are looking for 4 at once). Good luck though.
