Hi all,
Last week I booked a flight for my family on Germanwings travelling from Paris to Prague in December. It is a connecting flight with a one hour layover in Dusseldorf.
Do we need to collect our luggage and re check it and also check in at Dusseldorf or will our luggage automatically go straight through to the next flight? I am concerned that with such a short connection time that we may be in trouble as check in closes 30mins before take off. What happens if our first flight arrives late and we don't have enough time? Does it get foggy or snowy in Dusseldorf in December and therefore end up stranded there? I have tried contacting the airline but they have not responded to my email. As we don't speak either German, French or Czech I am concerned that we may not be able to understand what we are meant to do when changing planes in such a short period.
Last night I also noticed that Smartwings has a direct flight from Paris to Prague on the same day. Perhaps I should book that also and just accept that I will be losing money on my Germanwings flights. The only problem with Smartwings is that they only allow 15kg of luggage. I have noticed that It is a codeshare flight with Czech airlines so would we be allowed to take the extra Kgs being on Czech air?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
