Not an Optus but an iSeek one I suspect, they manage the VSPs on the Optus network.
ok - but it's an optus page that come up telling me I am out of credit when browsing and that I can't make calls - even to the support phone number.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

And some more loyal QFFers who knew diddly squat about their account.
Traveller letters: How I lost 412,971 frequent flyer points

It does beggar belief that you could accumulate almost half a million points and not be aware that inactivity could cause them to vanish... although if you were loyally trundling along at 20-30,000 a year for a few decades, I guess it's possible the author wasn't quite on top of the T's&C's.

Not the first - won't be the last.

Congratulations JohnK.

I guess its a race between you and George Clooney now - to see who gets married first. :D:D

Currently using a Telstra Sim which I had from Japan - 200mb for 30 days @$10 - it will get me through the weekend.

Found out last night that a friend had to fly back to Ireland on Thursday as his father died unexpectedly - heart attack.

My friends' son is going to miss talking to his grandfather via Skype and seeing him every year for their annual trip.

I am very now overdue to go back to see the specialist for some more tests. The problem is that most doctors only work on certain days at certain consulting rooms. (always near the city in Melbourne and all of the available times are during the work week).

I am rarely in Melbourne and rarely available during the work week. This makes it particularly difficult to see the doctor.

I'm not dead yet, so that is something good, right?

They will give you a med cert if you visit them, and I feel that health really should trump work. Maybe just take some time off to see your doctor?

I probably should just take some leave, although taking leave to see the doctor is a failure IMHO.

Presenteeism is as bad as absenteeism. It has a large impact, from the basic spread of communicable diseases such as gastro and colds and influenza to worsening health effects and mental health issues.

Underlying this is the archaic view, shared by many bosses, that taking a day off is somehow bad. If your work is that important that you can't miss a day, then what will happen when you die?

Truth is, the world will go on and only your family and good friends will care. Your boss will just hire someone else.
