Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Mr Orange, I was just about to say the same thing:

So how do you explain this reply by Red Roo then serfty??

I'm confused - I'm booking. Either I get them or I don't. I just want to devolve myself of points now.

I don't know what Red Roo is quoting from. It's not the literature provided by Qantas.

so i would rely on what is printed by Qantas, not what is stated by an agent on AFF.

However - if you have a screen shot and you booked before Qantas changed the date from 27 to 28 March, then you will be fine.

I can't explain the inconsistancy - you will have to ask RR. (Why were the FAQ's edited?)

In any case, based on RR's post if you book a MASA today for travel after June 30 it will earn points and SC''s ... The only issue is whether it would earn at the old or the new rates.

I had been trying to have that clarified for the last 20 hours and am glad it finally has been.

How exactly was this clarified? I'm somewhat confused by all this, even after 24 hours.

see from the main thread
Yes. If you book a MASA next week for a post 1 July travel, you will still earn, but it will be at the new rate.
If you book a MASA today, you will earn at the existing rate.
You will not be able to book a U class MASA from the 1st of July onwards.

I don't get it; what "new" rate?? There is no bloody "U" in the new earn table. Is it code for "0" (zero) earn, because it is not in the table?

I would assume it would earn at the same rate as the D and I fare buckets.

Feb 2015 AKL-MEL-LAX - 84K plus $700 ish copay. Booked and ticketed in time to earn old rates :)

my apologies - the new earn table applies. So if it is '0' then it's '0'

As for Red Roo's assurances... they have erred before when passing on information.

On the phone now (rang the 1300 number). Started at 5:50 BNE time. Catherine (Kathryn?) answered and had no idea about the Any Seat Award in U class. She asked why I couldn't book it online, so I gave her the spiel. Gave her the RoQ card number and she has me on hold whilst she reads it (so obviously not had one before). She has come back and said that it isn't possible, after checking with her supervisor. Gave her my last JASA booking reloc and she confirmed that it was done as an Any Seat Award but she can't do them now as her Supervisor has said that it can't be done. Call terminated at my request after 12 minutes.

HUACA, take 2 @ 6.02pm. Got Jenny in Melbourne who knew what I wanted and was aghast that another CSA (and Supervisor) didn't know about these - whilst she hadn't done one in a while, she didn't need the RoQ number. Chatted more than we did work (and the system hung on the first attempt, so she had to re-start) - booking finalised at 6.15pm.

Both knew that these bookings were going from 1 July

If you're confused about the dates (27th/28th/29th) then this is now how it reads
See QFFF Program Changes FAQs, Frequent Flyer - Program - Fairer Flying FAQs
Q: When do these changes take effect?
A: The changes are effective for travel on and from 1 July 2014. This means if you book on/after 29 March 2014, for travel on or after 1 July 2014 you will earn Qantas Points and Status credits in line with these new Airline Earning Tables.
Q: What if I've already booked?
A: If you have flights booked (booked and ticketed prior to Sat 29 Mar 2014) for travel on/after 1 July 2014, you will earn the Qantas Points and Status credits that applied at the time you made your booking. The applicable Qantas Points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer Account approximately four weeks after the dates of the flight(s) taken.

Okay so booking tonight a few MASA's before the deadline!

However, it seems that if we book from tomorrow, up until the end of June for travel after the 1st of July they will be classed as J/F bookings which seems to be increased points/SC's

Does this sound correct to others ?

They still have the grade sevens workshopping this.

Exactly and it may change again

Either way for an F seat LAX-SYD waiting another day or three and it may be gone anyways so I'll book now and see what happens...

From my current reading it should either earn current F SC/points, or under the new scheme the same SC and more points (I think)

I still can't work it out.

Can anyone explain where the 11,250 figure for the Platinum Status Bonus comes from in this example?

Frequent Flyer - Program - Tier information

It says in the table "Status Bonus applies to the Qantas Points earned in Flexible Economy", and inarticulate though that may be, I kind of get it for Silver and Gold... but for Platinum they seem to have take it from Premium Economy.

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere.

So QF WP, you didn't tell us where your scooting off to on your MASA.

( I'm a Nosey Parker ..... I know)
