Your Platinum One benefits on Qantas and Emirates

I don't know if that text on the website really means it.

Does P1 show on a QF boarding pass, or does it just say Platinum?

Even if Platinum One does show on EK boarding passes (or EK operated flight boarding passes), and a higher waitlisting priority over Platinums and below, that's where all the benefits pretty much stop, at least for the exclusive to Platinum One.

I wonder how P1 rubs against EK elites. They have just barely instituted their fourth tier of Platinum, and not even any higher than that (besides I/O, which is invite only).

Looks like WP1 is now going to be recognised on EK flights.

The Platinum page has exactly the same benefits as Platinum One for Emirates. I am not really sure if this is really much of a precursor to anything afoot.

Received a 'Connecting you to key Oil, Gas and Mining cities around the world" email this afternoon advertising the P1 benefits on EK. I assume I got this as I am based in PER (even though PER is not mentioned in the list of cities served).

IMHO, QF have got some big b*lls sending this out. It would appear they are just confirming that P1 status does not get you anything at all above WP status (with the exception of a higher waitlist spot, correct me if I am wrong). I also note that QF fail to mention all the things you do not get when flying on EK (QF codeshare or not). Inability to preselect any decent Y seat (all bulkheads and exit rows are blocked from P1) and no possibility to upgrade from Y to J no matter how many FF points you have or how many J seats are available. Inability to make effective JASA/FASA seat bookings on QF codeshare flights operated by EK, which from PER, makes JASA/FASA bookings to LHR almost impossible (unless you add ~10 hours to fly via SYD/MEL).

When actually on an EK aircraft, P1 effectively have no status all. Thats what QF should really say.....
