I got the 250k / 100k offer. Anyone wants a Platinum card??

When I got this card the bonus was 80k at 1:1 ratio, so 80k FFP. Now even with 100k bonus that's only 50k FFP. But the 250k referral bonus is not bad even at 2:1. Amex must be feeling the hurt after mass of cancellations since the devaluation.

Clearly I'm less of a Plat Charge holder. Offer was only 150k/100k. After the devaluation this is hardly anything special, especially for the new card holder.

Id be keen to understand why the different offer for the same card type. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you normally put through the card?

I received this email and I couldn't believe it. Only 1 referral required. 200k for me. 70k for the friend.

We've had 'better' offers in the past. Last time can get 100k miles for referee and 60k miles referrer. Not a bad offer now though.

Not a heck of a lot really. $2k - $5k per month. Will drop to very little now with the earning change. Having said that, they did offer me 25k points to keep the card recently.

Actually come to think of it, the value is actually half when compared to the old point system. So when they are giving away 200k points now, it's actually worth 100k pre-devaluation.

- Points are worth less post-devaluation.
- Offer for the person stumping up the annual fee is mediocre at best.
- 18 month exclusion rule applies.

Get a grip, Amex. Going to have to do much better than this.

As it is a "one shot" use I would suggest not having it public as if the applicant does not proceed/fail etc you could blow your 120/150K

Much better to find a good candidate unless you are desperate.

I received the 150K for me and 100k for the sign up for a Platinum Charge.
Don't know anyone who wants one though.

Side note, as someone who has received the doubling of points, I was advised by customer care that the doubling will occur based on points accrued up until the 1st of July. So I assume this 150k should be included in the double up (I hope at least).

I wonder if people who received the 250k offer have also been offered the doubling?

That would be nice. But unfortunately it's actually based on points accrued up until 15 April. Points accrued since then are on the new earn rate so they won't be doubled.

Currently sitting out the exclusion period but liking the sound of these offers. And logically with the big devaluation they had to do something to be competitive with some of the bank sign ons.

Mrs NoName will be back in the game in July so will be hoping for a decent sign on bonus around then and something similar to this early next year when it’s my turn to jump back in.

Does it actually matter if they don’t proceed after applying? Admittedly only one instance but last year I had a work colleague apply through my explorer referral link, was conditionally approved pending payslip upload, didn’t end up proceeding with the application yet I still received the referral bonus.

How sure are you of this? The rep on the phone told me it will include everything up till July 1.

The only good offer is the 200k QFF for referrer and 75k QFF for referee, total 275k QFF miles which is massive. Others are mediocre IMO
