A PDS would be awesome Mr Orange, as, like most I am very interested in what the fees and charges are - which would be covered by a PDS. Working both days, but any questions I would submit would be "Fees and Charges" related.

So if everyone else is at work I should have a good chance! :p

Where is the PDS? I haven't seen one yet nor have I seen the scale of charges.
....
Hmmm ... looks like the PDS has not yet been published.
A Product Disclosure Statement will be made available when the Qantas Cash prepaid facility is available, expected to be in the coming months, via qantas.com, and will also be given to applicants for the facility. A person should obtain and consider the Product Disclosure Statement before making any decisions about whether the prepaid facility is appropriate for them.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Will it be ready shortly after these meetings or are they also using them as opportunities to be asked questions by a pretty savvy bunch of travellers to allow some last minute fine tuning/tweaking before they settle all the elements of the card and release a PDS??

exactly.

we could play around with this all day...

1) can I use the card in 9 currencies? oh yes you can!
2) can I use the card overseas? oh yes you can!

etc etc etc.

thats the easy part and we already know all of that.

but what about the real questions?

3) how much are the fees? we can't tell you
4) what conversion rate will be applied? we can't tell you
5) what is the fee to simply take my money off me and load it onto the card? we can't tell you
6) will there be a monthly fee for inactivity on the card? (you know the ending to this by now...)
7) what is the charge for an over-the-counter withdrawal?
8) what is the overdraw charge?
9) what is the fee if I run out of one currency and you start to use another?
10) what is the fee if I decide to withdraw money in Australia?

are those questions generating excitement about the product? given this product comes from a company keen to make 'enhancements'... not for me. so what's the point?

from a PR perspective, you don't generally have a competition where it can generate negative thoughts about your product. you try and generate something positive... for example... in 25 words explain how you think this card will benefit you (possible answer: 'the free supplementary card will give me peace of mind when my children travel overseas and allow me to earn points on their spend!)

It is a shame about the 12 months thing. I have only just recently discovered this epic forum site. Oh well, I keep my eye out next year!

I'm sure the PDS will be available when it launches, as it hasn't launched is there any law that says they need to provide you with it now? The competition is designed to promote discussion, and yes it's a little hard to discuss something you know little about because the PDS isn't out, but there's certainly no need to continue droning on about that fact. It's certainly not going to speed up its release.

They clearly don't want negative thoughts on this, but so far it seems you're the only one being negative.

For those who have entered, here is a little bit of advice from the Cookie Monster :D

While I applaud Qantas for again giving members the chance to win a free lunch, I'm again saddened that I can't go. Next year, or at least after November, I'll very much be a contender! Congrats to winners. :)

As for Qantas CASH itself, I am very interested due to the fact I can't get a credit card, and using a debit card does not earn me points... so think of all the points I'm missing out on. I understand from the tidbits we've heard that it'll have up to 9 currencies and be very useful (up for debate) internationally, but as I'm a mainly domestic flyer I hope you don't forget about me when designing the fee structure ;)

I'm happy to pay a few dollars a month to earn points when shopping at Woolworths, which others take for granted on their CC's they can apply and be approved for... but not much more than that, and I fear the fee structure might preclude me from using the card to it's full potential... to earn me some points!

Just a suggestion .....
see if you can get someone to give you a card with a very low credit limit and then pre fund when you want to use it to get the points
I bet that if you
do and pay promptly for 12 months or so I bet they offer you an increase

worth a try

Don't have an income so makes it very tricky.

I have asked the question on your behalf.

Personally I think that as you would be spending your own money (pre-loaded into the card) then you should be able to get the points. JV

Qantas runs these events every now and then. It's a mutually beneficial event, with Qantas listening to feedback from some of their "power users", and we frequent flyers getting the chance to find out a few things.

Both the guests and the staff enjoy the meal. The thing I took away from the Rockpool event in Sydney earlier this year is that Neil Perry os passionate about his food and his relationship with Qantas.

And I got to meet Red Roo - both of them - and some of the more visible members of this forum.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

My question is can I get a Q cash card in ADL or will I have to go to SYD or MEL first? ;)

all I want to know is how much are the fees and charges associated with the card?

why do I need to enter a competition to ask those questions?

Who is to say that the entire lunch will be about Qantas Cash? Sure, we have to enter questions about it, but that's all you have to extend an implication on.

Guess we won't be seeing you for lunch.........

"Will I be able to use Qantas Cash to pay the fuel tax/surcharges for mASA bookings when these become bookable online again?"

"Will I be liable for the credit card fee that isn't a credit card fee when booking flights online with Qantas cash?"

"Will flashing the right colour QantasCash card get me arrivals lounge access or will I have to have an onward BP?"

Entry submitted. I love these types of comps.

Even better when these days I get to pick when I have days off  so naturally ofcourse Im free on the 3rd or the 4th september.

I'm not having a crack at this as I'll be closing in on LHR on QF9 on sector 2 of this year's DONEx at about lunch time in E Australia on that day - hopefully sitting in F from the requested UPG (please, pretty please :D).

Would love to enter, especially since it's a product that I'd be highly interested in. But unfortunately I'm 2 months short of a year of membership :(

Also do not yet have the required length of membership of AFF :-| Sadly not until the end of the year.
Good luck to all those who have entered.
