Your 2025 year of travel in review

A pretty crazy year for me, got married and managed to still make it to Canada to ski in Feb, had our pre-wedding honeymoon in Asia in May/June and then made it to Fiji for 4 nights after the wedding. This was also amongst a whole heap of business flying (I run my own business so it's not exactly off someone elses dime in this respect regarding the conversations above).

A year that contained both the best and worst moments of my aviation life. SQ suites was an unreal experience and something I'm so glad we got to tick off the bucket list. However my REX flight out of Adelaide catching fire on the runway under full power was something I'm not particularly keen to experience ever again.

Number of flights: 49 (Plus one failed Rex take off in Adelaide)
New countries: Korea... Didn't blow us away if you saw my last trip report
New airports: Miyazaki, Hiroshima, Gimpo (I think that's it).
New airline: ANA and Fiji Airways, both great experiences (except the ANA lounge at HND T2 Intl)
Shortest flight: Miyazaki to Osaka Itami, under 500kms as the crow flies I think.
Longest flight: SYD-YVR
Dislike: Fiji Airways Lounge in Nadi was super underwhelming considering the very positive reviews I'd seen. Also all of LAX outside of the QF lounge is a giant nightmare.
Like: Fiji Airways business class was a superb experience but... We flew SQ suites this year so nothing was going to top that!
