I have just taken my last flight for the year, so thought I would check what I have managed this year.

Segments: 51 (2 of which were work related)
Miles: 70967
New country: Japan
New airlines: Skippers, JL, NH
New airports: NRT, HND, CVQ, DNM
Shortest flight: DNM-CVQ (70 miles)

All my flights were within Australasia this year.

The most notable occasion was turning up to WLG and catching a flight I had actually booked.:oops:;)

With a little luck, 2018 should see me tick over LTG with QF.

edit: added new airlines

We are self funded so not big in numbers but ticking off the bucket list a little more each year.

Segments: 16.
Miles: no idea.
New country: Chile.
Most remote airport: IPC, Easter Island.
Shortest flight: Atlanta to Nashville.
Most memorable: Why direct when you can connect, SYD-LAX-ATL-SCL-IPC-SCL-ATL-BNA-ATL-LAX-SYD.

Got to meet Roo Flyer for a quick drink/after 40 hrs flying.

I don't think any moment will beat dawn, while looking at the Easter Island moai. Simply stunning.

All J, thank you AFFer!

Lost count of segments but airports visited
Aus: Bne Syd Cbr Adl Per Townsville and Cbr
Asia Hkg Bkk Kul, Hkt
US: Dca, Msp Jfk, Ord

Best flight CX F from Hkg to Ord
Worst flight QF Cbr to Syd

Best city visited: Charlottesville (it's quirky and great for political junkies)

How I am ending my flying year TG F CX J and SQ J

It's been a quiet year as work sold the interstate based business I looked after! Finished the flying year a week ago tonight.

Segments - 12
Miles - around 25,000
New airports - Hobart, Coffs Harbour, Zurich, Vienna, Prague
New airlines - Swiss and Austrian

Most unusual feature - I actually flew QF!

A busy year compared to the last few

Segments - 12
Miles - 43290
New countries - Finland, Estonia, Czech Republic and the Netherlands
New airports - HEL, TLL, PRG, AMS and MUC
New airlines - Finnair, KLM, Austrian Airlines and Garuda (which I fly on in a few weeks)

My shortest flight was TLL to HEL at 63 miles.

Only 1 new country planned so far for next year :(

Ha. Understatements of the year methinks.

A very quiet year as I finished off the last of my assignments with my employer, "retiring" after 18 years with them, 48.5 working years since I left school. Still doing the odd contract job, but hoping to accelerate travel in 2018.

So this year, only 12 segments, 8xJ, 4 x Y for 23,273 miles.

Airlines: CX, AY, QF, JQ (needs must)

Most exciting new city: St Petersburg

Most emotional visit: Villiers Bretonneux for the ANZAC Day dawn service (100 years since my Grandfather lost his left leg and two brothers on the Western Front.

Best flight: AY A350 HKG-HEL in J

Worst flight: JQ in Y (to attend a funeral, so it was never going to be good).

Countries: 6
