YAT80C - Yet Another T80 Calculator

I’ve created a modern user-input friendly T80 calculator that only requires your departure airport, departure date/time and timezone. It will create a calendar reminder as well. Some of the existing calculators lacked timezone calculations and had too many drop-down boxes.

Hope you find it useful.

Tried it out and easy to use.
One observation: the calendar entry created has the note:
“Check-in and reserve the best seat”
It’s not possible to check-in at T-80, you can only do seat selection.

Nice!

If you're bored and looking to add features, the ability to add to Google calendar and iCalendar directly from the webpage would be useful.

Good point. I'll update the description text. Thanks.

And if you get really bored, opting for a 24-hour clock, perhaps, and defaulting the timezone to the departure airport?
In fact, I didn't get this to work at all because had no idea what the expected input for the timezone is. I tried 'aest', 'AEST', 'Sydney' and 'UTC+10'.

Seems it has stopped auto populating the airports and hence time zones.

Thanks. The timezone was an easy update to be more descriptive.

I really wanted to force a 24-hour clock but it's browser dependent (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) all display the date/time input box differently and the displayed date/time is formatted according to the user's locale as reported by their operating system, the joys of cross-platform development. I'll dev and force the 24-hour clock in soon.

Cool, I got it to work. Thanks, wdotcx! I also had fun with the timezone field. 😂
In your backlog, can I suggest you unify the notation of the time input and output, please? It'll lower the mental gymnastics and conversion we need to make.

I have a formula in my holiday planning workbook for this but you've made an elegant little page for this. It's simple and efficient and beats my workbook any time.

If different combinations matter, I'm testing this on Win11, Firefox, regional settings = Australia but 24 h clock (hh:mm).

One little wish, please: that we could navigate the dropdown lists with the keyboard up/down keys. As an input method, it'd be more efficient when you can type, up/down and tab your way through the form instead needing to grab the mouse to select entries.

Okay. Added up, down and enter to move and select through the dropdown list.

There's an error in the calendar invite.

Generates this GCal event

Finally, not sure if it's possible, but a reminder would actually be even more useful for GCal.

Thanks for reporting. Should be adding the correct time now, Google wanted it in UTC, and then the browser adjusted the timezone too. I did some testing but if you notice it's not right post or PM me the URL, it's got the date/time in the URL query string and I can take a look.

Time zone issue resolved.

Is adding a meeting reminder by default do-able via the API? That would be great too.
