A special thanks to blackcat20 and TomVexille for organising the event and for donating a very nice bottle of red for dinner, as well as penegal who also donated some fine wines for dinner.
As usual, it was great to meet new and familiar faces. Some of us continue with the drinking in the J lounge :p

+ 1 to this. I did not appreciate all the hard work that goes into organising these events until today.
A wonderful trip and thanks a million for making it happen :)

(I may have nominated Shrek and I to organise a Hunter Valley tour next Spring, either that or I had too many glasses of Pinot  )

I can't find the thread for that. Can you post the link please? ;) :D

Many thanks for organising the classiest wine tasting event that we have attended.
We will book the January trip tomorrow when the head is clearer to organise flights.

A wonderful occasion to be out on a beautiful day with a great group of people. Thoroughly enjoyed, my appreciation to TomVexille and blackcat20 for their organization and preparation they put into creating a fantastic itinerary. Enjoyed meeting friends both known and new. :)

What a lovely day.

A huge thanks to our illustrious organisers, TomVexille and blackcat20 for pulling the day together. These events don't come together so well without some excellent work behind the scenes, so a big thanks from me.

See you at the next one which I think PF has offered to organise :p
Maybe should have stayed on the Chardy PF? :p

Glad you enjoyed yourself.

And I think we see you in AKL next?

Yes I will be there in March, though I'm still finalizing January and a possible February visit. Depends what awards I can book and how the schedule and finances work out, but March is definitely set.

Am I the only one who ends up planning future trips before sooner ones? :D

Don't include Wyndham Estate, was up there with a very special friend last weekend and bitterly disappointed to discover their cellar door has closed.

Cheers, will leave it off.
Hopefully be able to tie up something at Tyrells as their behind the scenes tours are pretty good.

I think a lot of people would feel the same. So much history gone. The closure has hit the local community with loss of jobs that has a flow on effect with other businesses in the town also suffering.

The closure was announced in the local paper about 4 months ago and nothing since then. I feel sorry for tourists that make a special effort to visit.
