Flying EK metal on QF codeshare from MEL to KUL this weekend. Interesting thing happened was that the boarding pass that was printed showed PS instead of SG which is my status. It also showed PS on the EK computer system when they checked it. Had to show my QF card and a lengthy explanation to get in to the lounge both in MEL and KUL. First world problem but it is quite a bit of trouble having to do all that.

Has that happened to anyone else and am I still going to earn my status bonus as an SG or is it going to be at PS level?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

When you first booked your flights were you Silver or already Gold?

Also, have some points dropped off your QF account because its been 12 months since you last flew, (noted-unlikely as you are SG-meaning you fly a lot), but just saying!
I wasn't on the ball, I had 150 VC SC, should have booked a cheapie status run, but didn't so droped 20 SC just because it was 12 months back since that 20 SC was accumulated.
In a way, QF's system is better, my status year starts Jul, easier to remember, than VA's system (where I have go back 11.95 months to see when my last activity was).

That's also my question. Or have you recently become SG?

If you notice at check in, you can always ask them to remove and re-add your QFF number. This should (no promises) pick up the current status.

I was already Gold when I booked the flights. Have been since September last year and my status year is in Jan. I am not sure if this has anything to do with it at the time of the flight I was 55 SC from requalifying for SG again. Is the system not acknowledging my status which I earned last year and just count it based on the SC that I have earned for this year?

I did ask them to re-enter the QFF number but it still showed the same status.

At least they still let you in, this happened to me in South America and the agent flat out refused to let me into the Admirals Club. I suggested they call Qantas who could confirm I was gold but she wasn't interested.

It properly shows Gold when I log in to the QFF website. I didn't have any trouble with OW flights in the past. They all showed the correct status. This is my first time flying EK since having QF Gold status. Have not flown with them for years.

This seems very strange. If you haven't already, please get in touch with our Frequent Flyer team on 131131 or [email protected] with your details.

Alternatively, please send a private message with your details as reference and I'll follow up for you.

Spoken to the team who was unable to provide me with a definite answer which is not very helpful.

Red Roo, I have PMed my details to you. If you don't mind following it up for me that would be great

I assume VC means VA. VA use a rolling status total system, qantas do not. Therefore SC can't drop off from a Qantas account in the same way.
