Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Two hundred thousand + QFF points just from Woolies EDR in the last two years? Rubbish.

I have earnt about 150K since inception without doing any "cat food" runs etc, but have exploited rotating cards to maximise the welcome back bonuses etc and to use whichever card had the nest offer. I would tend to think I am adept at this and so a lot of people getting over 200K would take some doing including having large families.

The average Joe would probably not get anywhere near that and in terms of influencing buying behaviours (which is why WOW has a rewards program) the amount of points they wil have earnt wil bea lot less. Coupled with that the average Joe would not be able to extract the vale per point from QFF that the average AFFer can. and lets face it it, even for us the QFF program is a very poor program by world tsnadrds in terms of value gained, and availability of flights.

There are a lot of average Joes who slave away for years to find that fuel fines and taxes are almost the cost of a discount ticket in Y, and that if they have enough for J that they cannot get a seat!

I'd suspect that that was one of the common complaints Woolworths got from their surveying of EDR members. If Qantas was concerned to maximize the benefit to their customer, Woolworths, they'd be addressing whether they could do anything about that. After all, a happy customer would want to continue the relationship. I know, pigs might fly.

There are plenty of toasters available...

Why I'll give this idiotic scheme a miss
There are plenty of ways to earn Woolworths Dollars, which means your balance quickly adds up:
ORANGE TICKET PRODUCTS
Look out for a huge range of orange ticket products. They tell you how much you'll pay, and how much you'll earn. You'll find them in catalogues, online, via email, Woolworths supermarkets and BWS stores (excluding Tasmania)..

No I won't. I'll look out for what I need on my shop.

To help boost your Woolworths Dollars balance, you'll also get offers on products you buy and things we think you'll like. These won't always be marked in-store, so make sure you check your email or login to woolworthsrewards.com.au to see your exclusive offers..

Are you for real? You want me to check my emails (the junk mails bin particularly) just to see what I might earn woolies points on? Pffft!

SCAN TO WIN
Every week, you could be one of 10,000 lucky members who win $10 Woolworths Dollars, simply by scanning your Rewards card at the checkout. Good luck!

Yeah, right. Or go down the pub, buy a ticket in the meat tray, and have a chance to win a prize worth 5 times as much.

EDR was the only thing that had me shopping at Woolies. The cough F&V certaintly didn't, or the lack of staff. IGA looks good.

Cheers Owen

How do they know that people haven't redeemed their (specifically) Woolies points on Qantas

We've clocked up ~ 100,000 points - not bad given we were later starters and have never purchased Meat, F&V, Bakery, Deli, Seafood from Woolies.

My shopping had already been shifting over to Coles due to better pricing, better stores, more promos and less queues. The only thing that kept me shopping at Woolworths at all was their Qantas Points Promos - with them gone so will I be.

As others in the thread have already mentioned, it's an insult to my intelligence that the "reward" for my loyalty in the new program is making me wait for the savings associated with my purchase rather than giving them to me instantly as they do now.

Channel 7 news just quoting that Woolworths are changing their loyalty program from earning QF FF pts to offering 'Instant cash discounts on purchases' - clearly all you guys have misread the WW changes.

Superhero Col says keep calm everybody...:D

Love it :D
In fact I just did exactly that today.
Joined up to Flybuys this morning, shopped this afternoon. Figure with the $ I was putting through Woolies I can get a family member to EY Silver and a few miles for the effort ;)

It will interesting in the next few months. I hope woolies has a stack of qantas points that they want to get rid of and they will have to have some pretty good specials with the start of new system.

It will also be on interest their new year sales once qantas relationship ends. If 4.5 million persons had edr linked to qff, all it takes is 10% to shift $200 per year for 90million to disappear off the sales. The cost of the qff points.

Would love to be in the head office when the figures come out a week after coles release their next sales figures.

I've spent $350 this weekend at coles and liquorland that they wouldnt have had last week. Interestingly Coles seemed busier than usual

I'd expect shorter queues to be a thing of the past in flybuys world. Maybe, Coles will also feel that they have less competition too.

For me the deal is done. Im switching from devoted woolies shopper to coles. What a stupid decision these wow execs have made

Only 26k points over the life of EDR, mostly because I have mostly lived with someone else so have shared the swiping. And Ive pretty much had no decent offer since June.

The grass isnt really greener. Todays FB offer is more than double the spend of the last multi-week offer, with half the reward...

Did you meet on AFF? Wouldn't that be a story? :);)

Easy enough statistic for Qantas to work out....

But the sources aren't Qantas.

I've been in fly buys for years. I usually just do the $10 off current shop. Have sent my mum on a few mystery flights in the past.

I just don't like Coles.
