Woolworths gift card thread

I feel quite despondent when I see all the V1s in WOW ...... they were once so difficult to acquire.

Has anyone found any good alternatives yet? (PM me if it's more appropriate.)

Thx.

Good News: Chinese new year gift card back! No activation fee!

Bad News: No bonus points on offer!

Starts Wednesday January 30. $88 special livery EFTPOS cards (the perfect gift card style) for $88. Given you can't even use a WISH card for 5% discount anymore not sure I see much point in this. Maybe if you need to spend a large amount now for a credit card sign on this could work?

While it’s an “enhancement” for sure, I think I can make it work for some payments.

It’ll be less lucrative than usual, but still 50% better than the alternative payment method.

Got kicked out of post office one day doing that..
I agree it won't make any friends with the people behind you in the queue or the person behind the counter. Probably best to do it in instalments and choose a quiet time of the day (if such a time exists).

I think you should qualify this by saying it may be possible at some post offices. Many post offices will reject the payment though.

I have a theory that this may depend on the time of day or night you visit them. I plan to test it in the next week with a stack of Only1s (and if successful then with these cards as well)

Pretty sure post office dragons are trained to deny you the pleasure of spending those cards. Even the machine want you to have a human to validate signature from what I read. Good luck to all.

The PO staff have been trained to reject prepaid cards for bill payments. It’s like they have the fear of god drilled into them. I once paid for a product rather than a bill and the lady got a big shock and was visibly concerned so much so tried to stop it before it went through (it went through) and then talked to a supervisor before I could go.

I saw some on the weekend at the one I regularly visit Big W - Eastgardens NSW. They used to be hard to find but not anymore since the WOW eGC method was shut down. Have you figured out an alternative use for them?

BTW @Dr Ralph, with the CNY EFTPOS cards, is there a limit per customer? Apologies if I missed it in your post.

Not really. I did have an idea that I wanted to try (99% sure it won't work).
