Woolworths gift card thread

I tend to use them for day to day visa purchases then clear out balance to health fund online

i think of it as a little investment,
after april these cards wont be financially viable
and since we can get 3ppd only for the promo period,
im happy to stock up as much as I can reasonably handle,
also happy to prepay or overpay bills

FYI (and I am generalising here) the main reason most people use this strategy on these types of promos is to earn 3/4 Amex MR points/$ instead of the 0.5/1.0 FF point gained from paying another bill/expense where that business does not accept Amex Directly (or has a punitive surcharge for the use of Amex.

The bonus WOW points offsets the cost of the VISA1 card fee. with some past deals the WOW points (or discount) gain was more than the card fee allowing an instant profit.

I regret not considering local champion, I could have easily become champion had I split the transactions up,
but oh well , live and learn

Had to Google this card. Seems like they have their own booking portal so should negate any savings/status/benefits.

I checked this out a couple of weeks ago when I saw it in a supermarket. Not only is it their own portal, so you miss loyalty/status stuff, but the few things I searched were way way above the going rate at the hotel's own website or at, say, Hotels.com.

Since August I have been attempting to have my email address changed for Woolworths Giftcards (which arrives at the site via a referral from NSW Seniors website - for a 5% discount). I can't access anywhere online to change the address and Woolworths IT department seem incapable of making the change. Each request is met with "it will take 5 business days".
Has anyone achieved a change of email address at WOW Giftcards site?

I dont think it ever did though I was confused at the time
The bonus points were a specific (now expired) visa1 offer and not Christmas Bonus

I had some questions, and presumably some people on this forum are better at utilising the discount offered than others?

I noted there was a subtle change to the discount on the weekend, and I was trying to pin down what type of transaction has suddenly been excluded from the 10% discount.
Please let me know which forum thread is appropriate.

Yes, I experienced the same. For the first time the 10% discount was not applied to the cost of Only1 cards purchased. I used to buy them to get my total spend to $500, to make full use of the 10% discount which maxes out at $50.

I seemed to be one of the last remaining fans of the Woolworths Qantas credit card for that reason. If this is a permanent change, the Woolworths Qantas credit card is dead to me, unless there is a full annual fee waiver.
