How many people are truly worried about theft at the security screening?? And for those that are concerned, on what basis do you feel that fear? Have never been robbed during security. And have never heard of anyone suffering such thing.

As for health concerns for this deranged woman, I suspect that for there to be a health effect from these machines, you would probably have to go through about a thousand times.........

I don’t worry about the security people but it’s the numpties who think they can move or touch your stuff to get to theirs. The concept of patience for waiting for the items to move through the belt seems to escape some.

I've spent a considerable amount of time in China. Looks like normal behaviour to me...

Not always true.

Your bag comes through the x-ray and it gets pulled aside for further inspection. "Who owns this bag?". You own up and move down the end to check what's wrong. Then 2 of your trays come through and my trays and all other trays are behind yours still in the xray machine.

Should we wait for your inspection to finish or do I push your trays through to you? The answer is very simple and you shouldn't feel angry or offended.

Maybe I don’t carry risky stuff but that’s not happened to me but I have experienced other people rummaging through to get to theirs. Or pushing ahead of me when their stuff will be after mine. Just silly.

Happens to me quite a lot.

The person in front of me on Sunday took forever to get things out. Laptop backpack with deodorant spray down the bottom. I waited as I had laptop to take out and jacket to take off. The person in front who took so long then had a bag check. When I left him he was putting deodorant spray back down the bottom of the bag.

A few went through as we were waiting. Lady confidently strides up and puts a few things in tray and walks through. Then has to walk back to put shoes through. I've seen some walk back through 2-3 times.

If you know what you're doing then move ahead. If you have no idea then sit and wait your turn in the queue.

I put a bag thru at SYD once that apparently touched the sides. This caused the machine to shutdown (line was closed and everyone diverted to adjoining lines). If the machines are this touchy, lets not use them as an alternative to getting medical imaging.

Any of the medical specialists here like to comment on this? Surely can't be good for you
I'm pretty sure they take a y & z image simultaneously and so while it would be a double exposure, it would be far less than a CT scan of say the spine which is ~400 images/exposures
