Maybe criticism is one of the reasons she decided to make this video. The large amount of high scoring wines in Australia (by local judges) became a well known joke as we rarely see any rated < 90, compared to the old world where 85-89 is very good score.

I found her broadcast very informative and I thought honest. I trust her scores as opposed to laughing at Sam Kim's. There are sub 90 scores in Hallidays Wine Companion
JD Cellars has often made reference to the French low points scoring system which she also highlighted. I think all wine critics cop flack.

She is definitely one of the better ones but she still has a vested interest in defending how the system works to continue to be a part of it. I also take issue that some of these reviewers have terrible palette accuracy and are simply journos.

Erin Larkin explains wine scoring.

Just watched this, found it pretty interesting as I never looked into the score construction - 50 pts for showing up.

Aligning to critic/writer is pretty common and sensible advice.

I personally like scores, the words are more important, but the scores are a quick benchmark for me or as EL says it's a ranking. Plus I like all the twf writers and their scores all roughly work for me - though they have their own crutches.
