Wine Glasses, Decanters etc

Has anyone tried the Plumm handmade vintage RedB glasses? I understand that they are massive - trying to find a rounder glass for some pinots (we have the Zalto Burgs atm).

the volume of the handmade Plumm RedB is actually only slightly larger than the Zalto Burgundy (996ml vs 960ml) - it's the height of the former that towers over the latter (266mm vs 230mm) which makes it too tall, coughbersome and impractical, to me, much like the Riedel Sommeliers Burgundy (248mm/1050ml)

shape aside, for a lightweight pinot noir glass, I'd probably try Zalto Burgundy (or Grassl Glass Cru), but at the moment my machine-made RedB (239mm/776ml) and Schott Zwiesel Cru Classic Burgundy (224mm/848ml) are ok

here’s a photo of one in the wild for comparison against a bottle. Note photo styling provided by Mrs Clt - my photos are rubbishView attachment 228598

how's the 2010 Eastern Peake OB Terroir? I was thinking about opening my 2013 soon

It was fantastic! No detailed notes as that photo is from May, but remember discussing with Mrs CLT that it was one of the better Pinots we’ve had this year.

Still plenty of life left in it - those OB Terroir Pinots are very long lived. We had an 08 last year and that was incredible! We both like well aged Pinots though.

if you have a reason (like it’s Sunday 😉) to open it, then I’m sure it’s in a good place. The OBs need a few years imo, but 7 should put it right in its window. FWIW, Halliday says drink to 2024 for the 13

Seems like you've been buying them for a while? I've only had the 2017 Intrinsic and 2013 Walsh Block recently, else I haven't really come across Eastern Peake much since last century at Dan's

What other old pinots do you have/had? Besides 2006 Ata Rangi, I have 2010 Hillcrest Premium, and various other Victorian 2012/2013s

Do you have a go to place you buy this from? Been looking at them for a while, but i keep forgetting!
I'm in ADL and got mine here:
You should be able to get one from any scientific equipment retailer.
A winery I went to recently wanted $35 for a similar item.

Auswine has all glassware - including Gabriel-Glas and Zaltos - at 10% off with free delivery (use newcust for further 10% off)

Gabriel-Glas are a good cheaper alternative to Zaltos - they make only the one universal shape, in machine- or hand-blown (the latter being Gold Edition)

Thanks Boomy! Maybe I will pick up a Coravin after all - this seems better than the Coravin sale.
Also tempted.
Can someone who owns one, advise if any of the accessories/spares are worth getting at the same time?

needles, caps, aerator etc

Reviews on Amazon seem to indicate the 3 needles is useful - we don't have anything that old though. It's $70 on amazon, so still a decent discount.

Unfortunately, no spare argon capsules available.

Anybody know any well priced specials/deals on stemware at present? I missed out on the flurry last month and hoping to pick up a twin pack of ideally Gabriel's or similar. Thanks in advance.
