Will you still earn/retain Velocity status beyond 2025?

Virgin have bungled this big time.

Mr Stanmps to the extent VA want to reduce the lounge numbers due to the riff raff currently in there, and then allowing more through via credit cards yes, they possibly have an inconsistent strategy.

Only question is in couple years time with reduced status holders what they'll do to increase loyal status holders. Then again no less than 5 DSC offers already in 2026 says something of desperation.

I’d argue they don’t need loyalty at all… except for their FF program and selling VA points to partners.

Actual BIS flying is achieved through fares, and fares alone.

Lounge entry etc I think will be through credit cards etc. Why give it for free with status when they can get paid entry, or indirectly paid through selling points to banks etc?

Just scraped in to retain Platinum this year. Almost certainly won't make it for next year but not worried. By then I should have enough SCs f or Forever Gold.

I believe a majority of long term statused members have a COVID aligned review date of 1 April. Some would have soft landed a level earlier this year. A lot more will do so on that date next year. WP to SG, SG to PS.

Other than those who are forever Gold, after April 2028 there will be very few members left having lounge access via status based on the old regime.
