Why can't you book a classic award online originating at DOH ?

As a destination it works fine.
Any suggestions ?

If I have to book via the phone will they waive the booking fee ?

QF would like to pretend that DOH doesn't exist so everybody flies QF/EK instead of considering QR.

This probably borderlines anticompetitive behaviour if anyone would like to involve the ACCC. I've certainly complained to qantas about it before

Don't know why the EK partnership would be the reason. They could always rig it to display EK flights only. After all EK do fly there seven times a day.

it's dodgy, but on the other hand they don't have to sell you anything out of DOH if they don't feel like it, nothing anti-competitive about it. Feel free to use QR. And yes, playing devil's advocate there, but come on, saying "ACCC" won't apply in this case at all.

I'm saying anticompetitive as they are making it more difficult to purchase one thing that another (reward seats out of Doha vs out of Dubai). They show QR inventory on other routes so why not out of Doha?

The fact that it seems to have been deliberately omitted (or rather, deliberately set to require a call to the centre) is what suggests deliberate anti competitiveness to me.

I've had the same problem with legs originating at DXB one way only. As soon as you make it a multi with any other leg, could even be like BNE-SYD in 10 months time - it will show availability - massive bug but kinda hilarious..

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've read in this forum quite a few threads flagging that QF's tools do not always show what's available for example when checking BA's site, so DOH is not an exception. And you can still ring and get it, no?
And for a rewards flight that the OP wanted, we need to keep it mind it's their program, they can do what they want, they could turn around and say awards can only be booked for Adelaide-Sydney the first wednesday of the month and it still would not be anti-competitive ... of course we'd then apply the commercial response and switch program.
We can differentiate between what we don't like and what is anti-competitive, no? It's not like QF is forcing you to use their airline/rewards program, you can join QR if you absolutely have to go to DOH - or still just ring QF and organise it.

This is absolutely correct. There are hundreds/thousands of oneworld flights (both award and revenue) that can't be booked on the QF website. You ring them. Tell them it can't be done online. Assistance fee waived.
