Who issues the refund ???

Hi
I booked my father a flight in J from LHR-IXR via DEL
All went well on the outward leg
On his return from IXR-Del he was bumped from J to Y
AI said it was a operational issue , the booking agent " large Australian online site " seem to pass it to AI , AI tell me they have issued the refund to the agent
Can someone tell me who is responsible ????
I presume its the online agent

If you booked through an agent, then yes, your contract is with the agent, not the airline. The agent should provide the refund.

Did AI give you any idea of the measure of refund? As a connecting sector it could be quite small (and probably won't be the full difference between the DEL-IXR Y and J class fares if you had purchased as a single sector). The refund can take weeks to process.

Your ticket contract is with Air India, not the agent. But the agent is responsible for passing on the refund to you.
