Air New Zealand GM International Airline, Ed Sims, studied PAX types to better understand their demands, comming up with 4 seperate catagories named after "The Simpsons" characters.
Biggest group of 29% 'Socialites', are Bart Simpsons. Typically they can't entertain themselves, so need external stimulation and direction and require the experience of the Airline to do so for them.
The 'Territorialists' at 26% are Mr Burns, and want their own piece of the aircraft and to be left alone. They claim their territory and form a close relationship with their space, notes Sims"While they are highly involved in the flight, it is on a selfish basis - it's about them"
The 17% 'Disengaged Jaded Flyers', or Mo the barman, are very hard to please and just want to get from A to B, to them it's a bus trip, and have a complete lack of enthusiasm.
Lisa Simpson, or 'Cocooners', feel that the flight is a neccessary part of the trip but not the trip itself, they entertain themselves, and want to zone out and get there.
At 11% 'The Positivists' or Marg Simpsons are planners and organisers, are typically fidgety, excited, and the flight is part of the holiday. They want the fun to start as they board, and they love the romance of travel.
So which are you? I guess I'm Lisa on most occassions, but have been known to morf into Mr Burns
Cheers Dee
