I noticed there is no F lounge there :( so was wondering which one would people prefer to go? I assume i can't access other oneworld lounges? as i am flying domestic, just back to LAX so T2 lounge is the only possibility?

thanks! :)

You can access any oneworld lounge that you yourself can physically access but I'd say you'll end up in an Admirals Club.

Yep the Admirals Club will be your friend. Nice place to spend a few hours with great views of the apron.

Yep, the SFO A/C is quite a nice venue - it's only been open just over two years.

Apparently it's temporary since AA are to move to T1 ...

After you check in & pass security at SFO you'll basically only have 1 option which is the Admirals Club.

It's on the left just as you clear security.

Also there's a nice deli type place across from the AC (called Farms Market?). I would recommend getting whatever food/drinks you want from there rather than ordering off the menu in the lounge.

Have spent a lot of time there recently. :\

The lounge is decent for drinks / quiet space.

The food is lousy - concur with going across for food.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping i can get some free decent food somewhere but i guess AA lounge is the only one.

Thanks for the tip on the food source :)

Oh BTW, how many drinks vouchers am i entitled to? IIRC was 2 but YMMV type scenario. Didn't get any at DEN recently.... didn't fight for it.

I went through SFO yesterday. At SFO, pre-breakfast time, I was given no vouchers but didn't want any anyway. As booze is now included in Admirals Clubs the only plus of the voucher is to get a better quality spirit. It's the first time I've been through the airport since the new lounge opened and it is a big improvement. Very pleasant. Later in the day at DFW C we were given two vouchers each and told "honey, come back for more if you need them".

Just to clarify, there's not really much in the way of free food in the AC. They have these tiny sugar laden muffins in the morning and a trail mix type thing for the rest of the day, maybe some biscuits, etc. That's about it. They have a food menu which you can order from & pay for.

Again, the quality of food at the place opposite is much better, so recommend buying there and taking it into the AC to eat. The pulled pork there is pretty good (never seen this at any other airport) and the soup is generally decent too.

If you have time to kill there are a whole bunch of take-away joints a bit further into the terminal, maybe 2 mins walk. Most of these will also sell you better food than you'll get in the AC. :)

They always give me 1 voucher when I check in at the desk, I've never had to ask. Serfty will tell you that you can go to the desk and ask for additional vouchers but I've never done this.

Side note: There's a late-20's/early-30's guy who works at the bar in the evenings - he makes a decent martini but you can't use the drink vouchers for those. :) I've been to a few ACs and the staff here are probably the friendliest of the lot. Except for maybe STL.

I usually get given one or two, but they are usually happy to give more if you've been there awhile and ask nicely.

A friendly "Could I possibly get some more drink vouchers please?" with a smile is always met with 'sure' and often 'here's a couple for you'.

I used around 8 between two of us in the SFO lounge in June. It's probably the nicest AC in the network too. The terminal itself is also great compared to the old hole they had!

Anyone know the ETA for moving to T1?

Another data point for 2 vouchers on arrival... never thought to go back out for more, but might do that next time! I generally try not to end up in AA ACs long enough to get too thirsty! :)

Cheers.

I was in SFO 2 yrs ago and got one drink chit - only felt like having one at the time however.
I do remember them having self serve Pibb which was brilliant (for me, at least).
Going back again next month.

As another data point, you can use the drink chits for bottled drinks (ie water, juice). I've done this several times.
Last time at ORD in the A/C I got a pretty nice bottle of mango juice.
I think the F/L does have bottled drinks but maybe not this particular juice in question...

I've had the AAngels in the LAX T4 AC (prior to being WP) say to me, after my third or so trip back to them for drink vouchers saying "here you go Mr drewbles. Careful though! We don't want to have to wheel you aboard your flight!" with a cheeky grin. Those girls know how to keep people watered in the event of misconnects ;)

FL's have Evian, Cranberry Juice, OJ, Apple Juice, and I seem to recall snapple too (although I may be wrong). Tomato juice is also available. Sodas and mixers are there too, none are post mix so it's all 'take what you require'.

I have a stash of the chits at home. Technically, they're only valid on the day of issue and at the club of issue. However, I find a one dollar bill over the top of the expired chit works wonders.

The lounge manager will certainly get the chits when he finds those in the close up count... :D
