Which mobile phone do you use?

Use the free app from google for maps includes turn by turn navigation.

Does this app work out of range? I love Here/Nokia Maps for this reason. Very handy around Europe, much of Asia too. Download the map before you go. No data issues.

As far as I am aware, Google app requires data (at least it does on iphone).

Nokia 620. I am no longer working so just need a phone for calls. Got a new phone because I didn't want to get left too far behind by not knowing how to use a smart phone.

Motorola Defy XT with the gorilla glass - always been Motorola handsets for me - I must be the only person in the world with brand loyalty to them. Haven't had a handset break on me yet - they are all in the drawer and still in use as spares.

HTC windows 7 phone. coughpy camera but otherwise perfectly fine. The rest of the family have iPhone 4S and both kids have had dramas related to water. I'm not impressed that such expensive products are so fragile, but the girls just want (and generally get) "the best". Not that their father knows anything...

Samsung Galaxy S2. No interest in Apple products any more. New phone due early next year, SG4? Or maybe SG5 by then? Or something else? Poor old Nokia must be suffering - how many of us had Nokia phones and don't any more?

I must say I didn't like the change from ICS to JB for Android. Seemed a lot like fiddling for the sake of it. Like the developers got bored and wanted to change it to look 'kewl'. What's with changing Google Maps all the time too?

Samsung Galaxy Nexus. My previous phone was an iPhone 3S and I chose the Samsung to see how android stack up. I've had no issues with it but I do like the keyboard on the iPhone much more. Also, there are way more covers available with iPhone, but that's only being superficial. ;)

Off topic - my S2 is still running Gingerbread - is it worth changing to ICS?

I just did the upgrade from ICS to JellyBean on my Nexus 4 and hardly saw any changes, although I had a very late revision of ICS.

I found ICS made an improvement to my old HTC useability wise, but did chew up a bit more memory.

I thought ICS was a good change but JB (Jelly Bean) seemed a bit pointless. It might be the changes under the hood I don't notice that make it better? What did happen is that all my neatly set out apps all disappeared back into the app folder and I haven't got around to fixing it back the way it was.

Does Gingerbread have a 'restart' option on the menu? I recall it didn't and you had to turn it off then turn it on. ICS had a restart option though.

Like horseman, my phone (provided by work) is a coughberry.

However, with my impending redundancy looming I've just gone out and bought myself a Sony Xperia SP to use as my personal phone.
My wife has been using the Xperia P for the last 12 months or so and is very happy with it so I figured I may as well go with the flow....

Currently and iPhone 5, previous phones include an iPhone 4 and a blackberry touch and a couple of nokias.

About to ditch my trusty Nokia 6110 (does anybody remember that far back?) that is even running the original battery.

Son-in-law told me to "get with the program" so I decided on this:

Samsung Galaxy S3 4G i9305 (16GB, Black) | Android | Phones

4G, user replaceable battery, what more could you want for the price? Looking at iphones, they seem over priced and I like the fact that you can connect an Android to your computer and it sees it as a storage device so you can move files around, or so SIL tells me. And which plan? check this out, and they use the Optus 4G network where available where some other carriers use the lesser wholesale network https://www.bendigobanktelco.com.au/MainPage.aspx?service=SpecialsSlider

IMHO the plan that you would choose would be based on usage.

I think the unlimited plan looks pretty good.

I have given up on my Galaxy note (anyone want it ? ).. and recycled my wife's 4s.
I didn't "get" the galaxy os, although it seemed like a good idea at the time
With everything else apple an iphone is seamless.
When I manage to relocate the note ,it's a new iphone 5 for this black duck

Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Great phone, especially for travelling. Great for note taking on the fly. I am also really surprised how good a photo it takes as well. Run Navigon GPS in the car, and google maps for everything else. I use it to control my home theatre/music setup using xbmc for video and sonos for audio.

I love it...

I use an ASUS PadFone first edition. 4.3in phone that slides into the back of a tablet - everything is held on the phone, current memory is 96Gb. Also has an optional keyboard so a phone becomes a tablet becomes a netbook. Only one SIM needed. Hardly use my MBP 17in these days.

My first digital phone was a 6110 (1998). That is amazing it has lasted so long. I had Nokias until about 2-3 years ago when their customer service got flushed down the toilet.

I have had an iPhone 4S since. I had a warranty claim and the phone was swapped over them and there. Before I had even left the store my replacement had everything loaded that was on the broken one.
