Hi,

I've just received my new QF Platinum membership and after reading the important information section it says that I will have access to the business lounge in Dubai. Has this always been the case and are you not able to enter the first lounge as QF Plat?

Maybe it has changed but you should have access to the First Lounge.
Yes, I’ve flown to Dubai before but in first as a platinum. I just assumed that you could enter even if not flying first. Looks like it might have changed without much fanfare?

Access to F lounge in Dubai is still a listed benefit for WP.
In Dubai, you and a guest may enjoy the luxurious Emirates First Lounge and in other airports, the Emirates Lounges.

Had no issues using it back in the days when QF1/2 was refueling in Dubai.

But maybe that is changed when Qantas wiped its hands of Dubai and pretty much Emirates. Hope not however we tend to fly Qatar these days.

That was my thought. The exact text from my new membership pack:

Platinum members will also be welcomed at the Emirates Business lounge in Dubai when your next onward flight that day is with a Qantas marketed flight.

Just have to slum it, if that’s the case. Although, I have no need to travel via DXB any more, due to QF not flying there. 😀

Edit: Nothing quite like watching the Eastern Greys, from Emerald City, hopping about and foraging in the EK First Lounge, in their Kangaroo Suits. 🤣

This may explain it.

Our worldwide lounges remain closed for the time being. However if you're connecting through Dubai, our Business Class Lounge on Concourse B at Dubai International airport is open with temporarily modified services. Entry is complimentary for First Class, Business Class and eligible Emirates Skywards customers. Find out more about our current network and services.

That would seem to be the best answer available and hope that one day the wonderful F lounge is operating.

Makes sense although I don't think that is the answer. I wouldn't imagine that they would update the terms and conditions on a printed membership pack for a temporary change to lounges given these changes are so fluid. Just my thoughts.

Who knows. Presumably they would print their new membership packs with the current conditions ?

You will know when you get there but pre Covid WP could use the First lounge. I was there October 2019 travelling Y.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but does anyone know if Qantas Club members still get access into the Emirates Business lounge in Dubai? Hoping to use it when I bypass through DXB next week

Yes, but you need to be on QF codeshare - a EK ticket will not gain access

In relation to the Topic in the thread title, the First Class and Business Class lounges on Concourse B and Business Class lounge on Concourse A at Dubai International are now open with EK full service offering.

First Lounge Concourse C was open when I was there 3 weeks ago travelling to FRA. I thought it was closed and went to Business Lounge but was redirected when I showed my boarding pass (QF WP on codeshare travelling Y)

I spoke to Qantas this week on this exact question. I booked a ticket BNE-Dubai-Madrid through Qantas with QF numbers which are flown wholley on Emirates oeprated flights. They told me I would have access to the business lounges in Dubai. There is some contradicting information on the different websites though.

I can't seem to find clear rules about the other way around. I'm QF WP, flying EK Y, EK ticket. Can I access the EK first lounge?
