Which CX HKG Lounge?

I only used the Pier F lounge when I flew back from Europe in May. We didn't even check the J lounge out.
If the f lounge quality is anything to go on, I suspect you won't be disappointed with the J lounge.

I'll have 4 hours between flights here on July 1. Flying Cathay J from Sydney to San Francisco. Anyone have any updates/recent experience other than the very good advice already provided so far?
I was there a few weeks ago doing the J lounge tour in the late evening. The Cabin was darkly lit and almost empty, while The Bridge was the opposite. The bar was packed and visitors in a social mood. Both worth a visit. Give The Wing a miss, nothing special there compared to other lounges. QF lounge had the best food and good bar service, but I'm not a fan of the location on the balcony. The Pier was my favourite and likely where I would plonk myself in future transits. But saying that, as a solo traveller, I did enjoy the social vibe happening in The Bridge.

Cathay lounges all have Bombay Sapphire Gin, if that is your preferred G&T base.

Read all the helful comments and may start with the Pier (on QF 98 J), and then move on to cheesecake dessert at the QF. Where are these lounges actually located?

It's up to a Km walk from the pier to the QF lounge (with travelators) - all 20-25 minutes to traverse. The other direction has is a people mover ("train") which should take about 10 minutes.

The QF lounge is on the upper mezzanine in the North arm of the Eastern end of the terminal (close to immigration/customs/check-in/etc.) while the Pier is in the Northwest arm of the Western end of the Terminal.

The "Wing" is in the Southern arm of the Eastern end of the terminal.

All over the place. I found some of them quite hard to find. Maps were few and far between and the signage is very small. I had to get directions several times.

Don't under estimate the amount of time taken to get between the lounges and the time it can take to get to a gate.

Hmm, maybe the 'take the one closest to the gate' is the best advice.

As the last lounge to visit? Yes, I think that a good idea. I found the boarding calls were made far too late especially if your gate is a long way away.

I would encourage you to check out more than one lounge though. The Pier is definitely great. I found it had the best showers. I found the showers in The Bridge very steamy. Got sweaty getting dressed after the shower. Don't think the extractor fans were working properly. The showers in The Pier were smaller, but newer and I found the extractor fans worked well. Enjoyed the heated tiles as well :) Appreciated the quiet sleeping/resting area of The Pier as well.

Thanks, will search out The Pier. Noted re the showers - hope I don't need to do a shower crawl. In the steamy HKG summer heat, staying refreshed after a shower becomes v v important.

Same here a couple of weeks ago and the signage in the airport is dreadful. Agree re distance. We couldn't find the Pier even though we'd been there before and went to the first CX we could find. Only to my horror realizing that the Pier F was just by our gate and we didn't have time to relocate. And which was a good 20 minute walk away plus dodging people who delighted in walking slowly in wide packs so you couldn't pass them.

The lounges are not that difficult to find. As mentioned probably 20-25 minutes walk between the 2 lounges but you'll pass the Bridge and Cabin along the way.

Note that lately QF98 has been departing from gates 30-39 which can be a 10 minute walk from Qantas lounge. The Cabin and Bridge will be closer to departure gate.

P.S. I'm not the fastest of walkers but I get around HKG quite easily and don't mind the walk.

Not for regulars that is true. I was last there 3 years ago. Memory fades.

:D Yes agree, esp if I can get one of those cute little hand luggage trolleys and it's not too humid/hot.

Or the long walk to burn off the calories imbibed during the visits may be beneficial.

The 2 most difficult to find are the Wing and Qantas lounges if you are coming from the Pier side of the terminal. The Cabin, Bridge and Pier are very easy to find.

If you are coming from Airtrain and enter immigration at South concourse the Wing is immediately to the left of immigration. Qantas is a little forward and to the right through the food court.

As you start walking towards gate 20-36 the Cabin is halfway along and at the end you'll find the Bridge directly ahead. From there head right towards gates 60-70 and the Pier is down the end or head left towards gates 40-50 and the Emirates lounge is up the stairs.

We were at around gate 60 and didn't realize the Pier was so close. Really dislike that upstairs lounge that is open to the concourse. Bad vibes or something. Feng Shui? :p

It does feel nice sitting up there, freshly showered, eating icecream, knowing you're not in the nosebleed section.

Recommendations for a HK Lounge

Flying out of HK with the Mrs soon on CX in J as a QF SG; which lounge would people recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Lots of recent discussion about this in this thread:

Having been there very recently I'd say if you can only go to one lounge make it The Pier. But if you have a chance to go to more than one do so, it would be foolish to stay in the one lounge for an extended period. But be prepared for significant distances between the lounges.
