Comair, which operates British Airways flights in South Africa and owns Kulula, has been placed into voluntary "business rescue". The airline has not been able to operate any passenger flights since 26 March, and may remain grounded for months.

Meanwhile, South African Airways, the country's other main airline, is unlikely to survive after the government withdrew funding a few weeks ago.

Comair is one of the only airlines in the world that has been consistently profitable for decades. It just shows that no airline is immune from the current crisis.

I've flown Comair a few times and found them to be good. I hope they are able to come out of this crisis in good shape.

I thought VA was bigger than that...
The same goes for VS. With the way they act, I had thought they were at least half the size of BA only to find that VS had 35 aircraft and 30 destinations compared to 278/183 for BA.
