Checked baggage? BA will lose it for you.

BRITISH Airways lost more luggage than any other major European airline last year, according to new figures.

For every 1000 passengers on the British carrier, 23 bags went astray - the worst performance of the 24 airlines who are members of the Association of European Airlines, Britain's Air Transport Users Council said today.

I wonder if these figures include the enhanced security period, in LON last year.

If so, I would expect BA to have had a particularly bad time of it… I don’t think many people’s luggage found them, until well after they found their destinations!

But I have a feeling U.S carriers damage more luggage :D

BA managed to do both for me on my trip to Europe last year - first they lost it, then (when I got it back), it was damaged. Two from two! :D

(Travel insurance were great about it though, bless 'em. :))

Cheers,

so if all my flights were on BA, and I always checked bags, I'd lose them on average every 2 months - not good.

3 return flights thru LHR for me in a 6 month period (all transit). Luggage lost on 2 occassions. Not good.
